Job Purposes
The Product Integrity department manages the safety and compliance of products being sold or distributed with Disney brands, characters and other intellectual property. Our corporate Product Integrity group is staffed with experienced engineers and safety professionals around the world verifying product compliance.
The Senior Manager, Product Integrity, for the APAC regions will lead and manage teams and related PI work for Asia Pacific markets including southeast Asia, Australia and New Zealand for vertical, licensed, promotional and flexible business models.
Job Responsibilities
People and Process Management:
- Manage, recruit and train local Product Integrity teams, setting priorities and objectives to effectively service department needs
- Ensure product integrity practices and activities are performed to procedures and minimize risk to Company
- Develop and create PI Program requirements and enhancements as it relates to new BU initiatives in the local region.
- Plan, manage and prioritize team’s workload/ad hoc projects as well as the review of staff’s work.
- Provide process input to technology systems requirement initiatives and to support department activities.
Subject Matter Expertise:
- Provide subject matter expertise on international consumer product rules and regulations including packaging and labelling as well as any updates in the region’s local requirements.
- Manage and oversee the teams' implementation of the updated design and PG specifications, as required.
- Lead team and stakeholders through crisis management procedures including region’s product safety recall procedures.
- Provide education to stakeholders as needed on product safety regulations and trends in regulations, and standards for the global marketplace.
- Manage global relationship and local budget with 3rd Party Professional Services and address locally any performance issues with the 3rd party.
Collaboration:
- Provide the well-respected leadership at the Senior Manager level that unites teams, great collaboration, as well as transparent proactivity and passion for the role.
- Lead teams with optimism, largely by influence and example setting including clear, timely and effective communications and updates to all stakeholders.
- Establish individual and position performance objectives for group and perform reviews against same for direct reports
- Maintain effective work relationships by partnering with assigned stakeholders, internal and external, worldwide to ensure a high quality and safe product is reviewed and approved.
Requirements
- B.S. in science or engineering field or equivalent
- Successful candidates will have 10 or more years of consumer product compliance experience and 3-5 years in management.
- Must have recent experience working in a consumer product company with a variety of consumer product categories distributed into multiple global regions and experience in chemical management programs
- Excellent written English, easily understandable verbal English
- Good written and verbal Mandarin
- Other languages such as Cantonese or Japanese a plus
- Deep technical knowledge of international consumer product rules and regulations
- Critical thinking skills and ability to showcase those skills
- Clear and concise verbal communication
- Excellent presentation and group dynamics skills
