We are seeking a dynamic and operationally focused Manager, Global Networking Engineering Operations & Telecom Operations (GNEO) to lead the execution and delivery of critical telecom and networking services across DX Telecommunications. This role plays a key leadership role in ensuring resilient, high-availability network infrastructure that supports wired and wireless networks, RF/cellular systems, private 5G, IoT platforms, and voice/telephony environments.
The Manager will partner in strategic planning while primarily focusing on operational excellence, execution discipline, and continuous improvement. This leader is responsible for overseeing day-to-day network engineering & operations, driving rapid outage restoration, enabling NetDevOps transformation, and sustaining mission-critical infrastructure supporting Resorts, Parks, and enterprise sites.
This role manages a team to meet business goals and promotes safety, accountability, innovation, and operational excellence.
This role reports to the Sr. Manager, GNEO Telecom Operations, and partners closely with technology and business leaders across the organization.
Responsibilities
Lead and oversee daily network engineering and telecom operations across wired, Wi-Fi, IoT, cellular, private 5G, attraction networks, video distribution, door lock networks, and voice platforms.
Serve as NEO Technical Commander during major incidents, leading tactical response efforts, coordinating cross-functional teams, and ensuring timely restoration of services.
Lead engineers and subject matter experts from various fields to support talent growth and succession planning, foster change, and guide the team in adopting agile methodologies.
Drive the transformation from traditional “Plan, Build, Run” models toward a modern NetDevOps operating framework.
Establish measurable NetDevOps KPIs including MTTR reduction, automation adoption, and change success rates.
Implement and mature automation, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), CI/CD, and Continuous Monitoring capabilities to enhance reliability and operational efficiency.
Development, planning, execution and closeout of all aspects of equipment support throughout the device lifecycle.
Partner with senior leadership in developing and executing network roadmaps while focusing on operational delivery and execution.
Delivery on implementation projects and business initiatives.
Adopt agile methodologies to accelerate iteration cycles and ensure network solutions adapt quickly to changing customer and business requirements.
Oversee change management, vulnerability remediation, and complex problem resolution within highly integrated environments.
Ensure resilience and performance of critical services that directly impact Guest and Cast experiences.
Work with the NEO business office to oversee budgets, contracts, and operations, ensuring accurate forecasting, cash flow monitoring, and cost optimization.
Drive the evaluation of emerging technologies, vendor solutions, and RFP processes.
Communicate timely updates to executives, partners, and business leaders on project status, outages, and key performance metrics.
Establish measurable NetDevOps KPIs, including MTTR reduction, automation adoption, and change success rates.
Cultivate relationships with technology and business leaders across TWDC to influence enterprise strategy and execution.
Accountable for performance management, career development, and succession planning for the technical team.
Qualifications
8+ years of experience in IT and networking infrastructure within large, complex environments.
5+ years of experience managing technical teams, including lead and senior engineers.
Proven ability to inspire, engage, and lead diverse teams of technical experts across multiple disciplines, cultures, and backgrounds.
Demonstrated success leading operational teams in high-availability environments.
Experience supporting large-scale wired and wireless networks, RF/cellular systems, fiber-based infrastructure, network security, VoIP/SIP, and IoT/5G solutions.
Hands-on familiarity with Cisco and HP-Aruba platforms, Palo Alto, Infoblox, ServiceNow, and GPON/Calix technologies.
Ability to collaborate across diverse stakeholders while balancing multiple perspectives and business priorities.
Proven experience leading major incident response in mission-critical environments.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Teams, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Required Education
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline and/or relevant work experience
Preferred Education & Certifications
Relevant industry certifications (CCNA, CCNP, Aruba, PaloAlto, Infoblox, F5, etc.).
Certifications in Major Incident Management, Problem Solving, or Decision-Making methodologies (e.g., Kepner-Tregoe).
Advanced degree in Engineering, Technology, or Computer Science preferred.
