Job Summary:

The Entertainment Technical Manager is a pivotal leader responsible for the strategic planning, flawless delivery, and ongoing sustainment of all technical systems that supporting Entertainment across Hong Kong Disneyland Resort. This role safeguards the integrity, safety, and reliability of technical operations while ensuring world-class execution of live shows, parades, events, and special projects. As a leader of technical operations and a key partner to Technology Services and cross-functional collaborators, the Manager drives innovation and sets the benchmark for technical execution that elevates Disney’s entertainment offerings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leadership: Lead the operations team for show installation and operations of complex Entertainment technical show system for permanent and seasonal show offerings. Lead, coach, and develop technical managers, supervisors, and technicians.
  • Safety Compliance: Perform inspection to show rigging equipment and partner with facility service and vendor for mechanical equipment regular inspection. Understand the local regulations and follow the Disney Global Standards.
  • Operations Budget: Able to management the show venue operations expense includes, equipment maintenance, spare parts and show scene rehabilitation.
  • Quality Control: Conduct regular show audits to ensure all technical elements includes operations safety, AVL cues are meet with the original creative intent.
  • Show Operations: Willing to multitasking on technical show operation includes, theaters, parade, live atmosphere shows, fireworks & pyrotechnics, and seasonal offerings.
  • Technical Administrative: Able to read & write the operations guides, checklists, recruitment, email respond and flexible works schedule
  • Coordination: partner with internal teams, vendors, and Disney Live Entertainment / WDI partners for projects and sharing.
  • Partnership: Required to partnering with Show Operations, Costuming, Facilities, and Park Operations for seamless daily operation.

Required Qualifications

  • Degree or Higher Diploma in Technical Theatre, Entertainment Engineering, or related field.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD or Sketchup drawing software.
  • Minimum 5 years working experience in live entertainment technical operations.
  • Proven leadership experience managing technical teams.
  • Strong knowledge of networks, video streaming, video wall, audio, lighting, rigging, and show control systems.
  • Strong communication skills in English; Cantonese or Mandarin an advantage.
