About the Role & Team

Reporting directly to the Media Engineering Manager, the Post Production Engineer provides technical post-production support at the Spanish Post Production Facility, while also extending assistance to other EMEA regions. This involves all technical aspects related to creative operations within the editing suites, audio facilities, storage infrastructure, and the PAM (Production Asset Management) system.

This role will require you to be onsite 4 days a week in the Madrid office.

What You Will Do

Offer primary and secondary line assistance for the Spanish Post Production Facility, extending support to additional regions throughout EMEA, encompassing Video, Graphics, and Audio editing needs. Occasional travel to other facilities may be required.

  • Diagnose and resolve issues within all aspects of the post production and storage environments across EMEA
  • Optimally detail problems and their resolutions.
  • Work with Manager and Principal Engineer to plan upgrades for all Post Production systems, advising on systems improvements and workflow development as the need arises.
  • Assist other Disney Technical staff with technical upgrades and new installations, in conjunction with 3rd party integrators and other third party providers.
  • Work with the manager to collaborate with the Disney IS to ensure desktop and broadcast infrastructure work seamlessly together.
  • Work with key manufacturers and support vendors to achieve an appropriate level of service for the Disney lines of business.
  • Implement and follow the agreed change control process for all planned technology changes making sure that all work is detailed, and any changes updated on the relevant wiring/ cable schedules, workflow drawings and project documentation.
  • Undertake preventative maintenance to ensure maximum system availability whilst leading and detailing the maintenance cycle
  • Manage the spares inventory and ensure stocks of spares are current and accessible.
  • Cover for other technical staff for holidays and sickness as required, giving remote support to other European markets as needed.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Education to Degree level in a related Electronic Engineering field, followed by selective theory & practical training courses during employment. Alternatively educated to a higher education standard, such as the International Baccalaureate, with greater than 3 years proven track record in broadcast support
  • Be technically proficient across a wide range of broadcast related areas.
  • At least 3 years with a major broadcaster or post production facility and will have worked previously in a post production support role.
  • Knowledge and experience in Post production edit (Adobe Premiere Pro), Graphics (Adobe Creative Suite, Autodesk Maya, Cinema 4D) and Audio (Avid ProTools)
  • High standard of digital literacy on the Mac, Linux and Windows platforms.
