Team Description:
Disney Parks, Experiences and Products is seeking a Senior Software Engineer with a passion for building world-class products and enabling our businesses to be future ready. We are looking for an engineer who has full stack programming experience and is enthusiastic to build and maintain new applications, improving our Guest and Cast experiences.
What You'll do:
Design and implement reliable, high-throughput, low latency, scalable and well-documented code to tackle sophisticated algorithms
Collaborate with engineers, product owners, and other partners to propose extensible, reusable and performant solutions
Proactively seek opportunities to reuse or generalize existing services and implementations
Experiment, develop proof of concept with relevant new technologies
Conduct code review pull-requests with consistent scrutiny
Able to work independently to analyze and solve issues as an individual contributor
Troubleshoot, fix problems reported in lower and production environments
Write unit and component tests to ensure delivery of high quality code
Monitor and proactively improve production run quality of applications
Work in a scrum team and provide your daily updates
Estimate effort for assigned development tasks, assist in estimating level of effort for less senior level developers
Required Qualifications & Skills:
Minimum of 5 years of software engineering, analysis and design with full software development lifecycle experience
Minimum of 5 years with Internet technologies, microservices architectures
Minimum of 5 of developing cloud native applications, preferably in AWS
Experience with scripting languages like JavaScript and frameworks such as Angular/ react
Experience with Docker / Kubernetes
Strong understanding of object-oriented programming with an understanding of design principles
Knowledge of CI/CD tools
Demonstrated experience with Java, Spring Framework, SQL and NoSQL-based databases, writing complex SQL queries and building highly scalable and highly performant distributed applications and web services
Demonstrated strong analytical skills
Preferred Qualifications:
Develop prototypes of new technologies, exposure to GraphQL / Graph DBs
Experience in the commerce space and products / pricing / inventory domains
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
Minimum 5 years relevant experience
Required Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software, Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or comparable field of study, and/or equivalent work experience
