Disney Streaming includes premium streaming services with Hulu, a premium streaming service that offers premium originals, current season TV, an extensive library of hit series and movies, and live television. ESPN+, and Disney+ is the Disney-branded streaming service featuring an incomparable collection of content from its brands and franchises recognized and respected all over the world including Star Wars, Marvel, Pixar, Disney, and NatGeo. Our Disney Streaming team is looking for hardworking team-players to join the Viewer Experience team, who will thrive upon the legacy of Disney, ESPN, and Hulu, embrace unconventional thinking, and who are passionate about contributing to The Walt Disney Company’s direct-to-consumer (DTC) experience through strategic hard work and determination.

As Manager, Self-Service Content, you will lead a team of writers and an editor responsible for creating help articles that inform and empower our viewers to use our products across Hulu, Disney+, and Star+. On the day-to-day you’ll oversee writing and editing operations while developing team members. You’ll be responsible for the performance of all Help Center articles published for business launches, including regional expansions into new markets. The ideal candidate for this role has a background in digital content management on a global scale, has experience leading a team, and knows how to prioritize time investments and influence process changes. You’re a strong advocate for your team and are skilled at balancing the needs of partners, customers and direct reports. This is a versatile, fast-paced position that works with a multitude of global business teams, so flexibility and strong collaboration skills are a must.

What You Will Do

  • Lead a team responsible for writing and editing long-form articles that support our domestic and international viewers across Hulu, Disney+, ESPN+, and Star+ help centers; Manage team performance and resourcing

  • Oversee and continuously improve our intake and editorial process, prioritizing and assigning new content requests based on impact and team capacity

  • Supervise the execution and performance of all Help Center articles for business launches, including regional expansions into new markets

  • Collaborate with localization, corporate communications, product and legal teams to ensure all article content is accurate, aligned wit h business priorities, and accounting for regional nuances

  • Lead all aspects of the maintenance of style guides and glossaries, ensuring team members are adhering and contributing to editorial standards

  • Act as a stakeholder on projects where consultation is required from the content team, including objective definition, content requirement gathering sessions and resourcing needs

  • Take on additional responsibilities as business requirements evolve and mature

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s Degree

  • 5+ years of digital content creation experience

  • 2+ years of people management experience to include:

    • 1:1 writer coaching, mentoring and editing experience

    • Leading and developing writers (e.g. team lead/lead writer/lead editor capacity)

    • Experience with professional development of writers/editors

  • 1+ years of experience with global content management and localization

  • Experience writing for web, mobile, social, and emerging platforms, with a proficient understanding of SEO and how it influences content

  • Solid understanding of HTML and CSS

  • Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to independently lead multiple projects in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in digital content strategy for help centers

  • Experience with a CMS

  • Experience in campaign tracking

The hiring range for this position in CA is 109,300.00-$150,200.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
