We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team as a Jira Administrator with Product Management Skills within DE&E Technology. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining, configuring, and optimizing a shared Jira instance to support our Product Development Engineering, and Program Management processes. Additionally, you will leverage your product management expertise to collaborate with cross-functional teams and drive the strategic alignment of Jira standards to drive efficiency with our product roadmap and business objectives.
 

Responsibilities and Duties of the Role:

  • In response to user requests, implement JIRA reporting, dashboards, workflows, fields, and perform general JIRA administration.

  • Configure, customize and administer Jira projects, workflows, fields, and permissions to support the needs of various teams and departments.

  • As needed integrate Jira with other tools and platforms used across the organization, such as version control, continuous integration, and deployment platforms.

  • Evaluate and implement third-party plugins and extensions to enhance Jira's functionality and integration capabilities.

  • Provide training and support to users on Jira usage, best practices, and advanced features.

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for Jira-related inquiries and issues, offering timely assistance and resolution.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to analyze existing processes and identify opportunities for improvements within Jira.

  • Implement defined, best practices and standards for Jira usage across teams, including issue tracking, project management, and reporting.

  • Work closely with Jira users to understand product requirements, priorities, and roadmap initiatives.

  • Translate product requirements into Jira epics, user stories, and tasks, ensuring alignment with development teams and delivery milestones.

  • Leverage Jira's reporting and analytics capabilities to provide insights into project progress, resource allocation, and product performance.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of relevant experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business Administration, related field or equivalent work experience

  • Knowledge of the software development life cycle (SDLC)

  • Experience working in an agile environment

  • Ability to develop and analyze product metrics

  • Ability to work cross-functionally with multiple teams

  • Analytical and problem-solving mindset

  • Proficiency in JQL (Jira Query Language) and the ability to write complex custom JQL (Jira Query Language).

  • Ability to construct custom dashboards, structure boards, and using various filter types in JIRA.

  • Ability to construct Confluence pages and integrate JIRA projects with Confluence pages.

  • Experience in performing Atlassian installations, migrations, and plugin installation.

  • Develop and maintain complex workflows for different issue types aligned with standard processes and that facilitate continuous integration automation.

  • Developing JIRA Templates and complex workflows including screen schemes, permission schemes, and notification schemes.

  • Install and configure plugins.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in streaming media or media-oriented organizations.

  • Proven experience as a Jira Administrator, with deep knowledge of Jira configuration, administration, and customization.

  • Jira Administrator or Product Management certification(s) preferred.

  • Proficiency in utilizing Jira's core features such as issue tracking, project management, and workflow customization.

  • Strong understanding of Agile and Scrum methodologies, with experience in using Jira to support Agile development processes.

  • Familiarity with product management principles and practices, including product road mapping, feature prioritization, and stakeholder engagement.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across cross-functional teams.

  • Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Groovy, Python) and REST APIs for Jira automation and integration is a plus.

  • Experience with Data Reporting tools (e.g. Tableau, Looker) for additional reporting is a plus.


The hiring range for this position in Santa Monica, California is $112,600 - $151,000 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
