The Ad Platforms team is building and operating the technology that supports Disney’s industry-leading, multi-billion dollar global advertising business. Working across all of Disney’s streaming brands and linear channels, this team’s scope is multifaceted - they impact everything from core infrastructure development that powers Disney’s proprietary ad server, to reimagining viewer-first ad experiences and formats. What You Will Do 

The Ad Infrastructure team is seeking a talented software and cloud engineer to join our team. Our systems enable DevOps practices so releases can be executed faster and be more stable in production. Our platforms and tools reduce the cognitive load of ownership and operations so that teams can devote the majority of their time to delivering business value.  

  • Provide support to dev teams for our tooling and platform.  

  • You’ll write automation tools to support developers deploying and running cloud infrastructure.  

  • You will implement and execute best practices and security standards for operating in the cloud.  

  • You will contribute to a library of shared terraform modules.  

  • When we hit the limits of our scale, you will participate in investigations.  

  • Work with infrastructure tooling and be a good resource for forming cloud infrastructure as code.  

  • Participate in on-call rotations.  

First 6-8 months  

  • Providing support to devs teams for our tooling and platform  

  • Participating in our on-call rotation  

  • Learning the tools and processes our team uses  

12 months  

  • Becoming familiar with the Ads organization  

  • Begin contributing to internal tools and libraries  

  • Automating various aspects of the support channel  

18-24 months  

  • Responsible for larger projects  

  • Become an expert in all of our Ad Infrastructure tooling  

  • Expected to contribute in technical design meetings  

 

Required Qualifications & Skills  

  • Minimum of 1 year of software engineering experience  

  • Experience with Python, Go, or JavaScript  

  • Experience with Docker  

  • Experience using and implementing CI/CD  

  • Experience with cloud hosting  

 

Preferred Qualifications  

  • AWS Certifications  

  • Experience with Unix/Linux systems  

  • Experience with Kubernetes  

  • Experience with AWS  

  • Experience with Spinnaker  

  • Experience with Jenkins  

 

Education  

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software, Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or comparable field of study, and/or equivalent work experience. 

 


The hiring range for this position in Santa Monica, CA is $93,400.00 - $125,200.00 per year based on a 40-hour work week. The amount of hours scheduled per week may vary based on business needs. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
