Technology is at the heart of Disney’s past, present, and future. Disney Entertainment and ESPN Product & Technology is a global organization of engineers, product developers, designers, technologists, data scientists, and more – all working to build and advance the technological backbone for Disney’s media business globally.

The team marries technology with creativity to build world-class products, enhance storytelling, and drive velocity, innovation, and scalability for our businesses. We are Storytellers and Innovators. Creators and Builders. Entertainers and Engineers. We work with every part of The Walt Disney Company’s media portfolio to advance the technological foundation and consumer media touch points serving millions of people around the world.

Here are a few reasons why we think you’d love working here:

Building the future of Disney’s media: Our Technologists are designing and building the products and platforms that will power our media, advertising, and distribution businesses for years to come.

Reach, Scale & Impact: More than ever, Disney’s technology and products serve as a signature doorway for fans' connections with the company’s brands and stories. Disney+. Hulu. ESPN. ABC. ABC News…and many more. These products and brands – and the unmatched stories, storytellers, and events they carry – matter to millions of people globally.

Innovation: We develop and implement groundbreaking products and techniques that shape industry norms, and solve complex and distinctive technical problems.

Commerce, Data & Identity provides the core product management functions for areas crucial to Disney’s media businesses. These include initiatives and products that power digital commerce, identity, and growth, as well as those that reach uniquely across The Walt Disney Company enterprise, such as messaging and privacy, among others. Additionally, it is responsible for the data engineering, science, and products for Disney Entertainment & ESPN, along with their interconnection with other parts of The Walt Disney Company.

Our Data Organization is the engine that powers this vision. We collect, store, and activate data to understand consumer and customer relationships at an unprecedented scale: ingesting 100s of terabytes of data per day and managing a storage footprint of hundreds of petabytes. Our work provides the clear picture of performance across commerce, marketing, content, product, and platform experiences.

We are seeking a highly strategic and visionary executive to lead as Vice President, Data Product. In this role, you will be the bridge between our massive data capabilities and our core business goals. While our engineering teams build the Composable Architecture and Data Mesh, you will define what gets built on it and why. You will lead a world-class team of Data Product Managers to translate raw signals into intuitive, high-impact data products that drive measurable growth across our streaming platforms (Disney+, Hulu, ESPN).

Reporting directly to the SVP, Commerce, Data, and Identity, this leader will foster deep partnerships across Engineering, Data Science, Marketing, and Content, ensuring that every data asset we create directly empowers our business to make faster, smarter decisions.

  • Champion Data Democratization: Define the product evolution for the Data Portal and self-service ecosystem. Transform how business users and analysts discover, access, and activate data, reducing time-to-insight and driving company-wide adoption.
  • Act as the Voice of the Internal Customer: Foster tight feedback loops with cross-functional leaders in Ad Sales, Marketing, Content, and Finance. Deeply understand their pain points to ensure data products are actively adopted and solve real business problems.
  • Deliver High-Impact Tools & Analytics: Oversee the strategic roadmap for advanced data applications, such as Marketing Mix Modeling (MMM) automation and Real-Time Launch HQ for high-profile events, empowering teams to act at the speed of the media cycle.
  • Partner with Engineering & Science: Collaborate lock-step with the Data Engineering and Data Science leaders to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions, ensuring our technical architecture delivers maximum business value.
  • Productize Trust & Compliance: Work with Data Reliability Engineering (DRE) and Legal/Privacy teams to treat Trustworthy Data as a core product feature. Ensure global compliance (GDPR, CCPA, IAB TCF 2.3) and consumer privacy are seamlessly integrated into the product lifecycle.

Basic Qualifications

  • 15+ years of product management leadership experience, with a significant portion dedicated to leading Data Product, Analytics, or Platform teams at scale for global consumer brands or media technology companies.
  • Deep Understanding of the Data Ecosystem: Strong working knowledge of modern data architectures (Data Mesh, Composable Workspaces, Snowflake, Databricks) and how to build intuitive product layers on top of complex, petabyte-scale infrastructure.
  • Strategic Vision and Execution: Proven track record of taking enterprise-wide data initiatives from concept to widespread adoption, balancing long-term strategic investments with rapid, iterative value delivery.
  • Exceptional Stakeholder Management: Masterful ability to navigate a highly matrixed organization. Can translate highly technical concepts for executive audiences and translate business strategy into technical requirements.
  • Data Privacy Expertise: Deep understanding of the global data privacy landscape and experience building products that natively respect user consent and regulatory frameworks.
  • Team Building and Leadership: Demonstrated success in recruiting, developing, and inspiring a high-performing product management organization.
  • BS/BA in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or related field required; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
