Team Description:
The AI Platform Engineering team builds and supports systems that enable creativity, personalization, and operational excellence across the company. You’ll be part of a team that values innovation, agility, and impact—where your work directly contributes to the future of entertainment.
What You’ll Do:
Design, code and debug scalable, secure, and high-performance architectures for AI-driven platforms.
Ensure architectural decisions align with business goals and technical standards.
Collaborate with product managers, technical program managers, stakeholders, and engineering teams to integrate architecture into product roadmaps.
Hands on coding at a component level and conduct code reviews and enforce coding standards and best practices for code commits
Perform Unit tests on code written and be able to debug and troubleshoot to resolve complex technical issues across distributed systems.
Execute using agile practices, including MVP and iterative development approaches.
Model inclusive behaviors and company cultural attributes.
Exercise sound judgment when navigating risks, blockers, or trade-offs.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
Experience in software engineering, with a focus on architecture and system design.
Hands on coding is required for at least 80% of the time using programming languages like Python, Go, React, Java, C#, JavaScript etc.
Proficiency in modern programming languages (e.g., Java, Go, Python, JavaScript).
Knowledge of AI architecture.
Strong understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
Detail-oriented, self-organized, and adaptable to fast-paced environments.
Passion for Disney’s mission and values.
Preferred Qualifications & Skills:
Experience coding in AI and machine learning engineering platforms (e.g., MCP, A2A).
Hands-on experience with containerization and orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes).
Hands-on experience of DevOps practices and CI/CD tools like Gitlab/GitHub/ADO etc.
Hands-on programming experience with RAG based LLM chatbots, vector DB and OpenSearch systems
Experience with SCRUM/Lean Agile frameworks and MVP delivery.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills for technical audiences.
Ability to prioritize work, resolve conflicts, and manage delivery across multiple efforts.
Required Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, or equivalent work experience.

The hiring range for this position in Seattle, WA $102,100.00-$136,900.00. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
