This role is considered remote, which means the employee will work remotely on an ongoing basis and will not have an assigned workspace at a Company designated location.

Job Summary:

This Enterprise Architect role will play a critical role in driving transformation by applying Enterprise Architecture practices and collaborating with our technical experts across our organization to make our most strategic and critical projects successful, with a focus on ensuring our applications, platforms, and services are designed for appropriate levels of availability, resiliency, and observability.

Availability

  • Develop guidance, standards, and patterns that provide appropriate levels of availability for our most critical systems and services, whether on premise, cloud, or SaaS
  • Conduct assessments of existing systems to identify opportunities to uplift their availability.
  • Advise project teams on various failure scenarios and determine mitigation approaches.

Resiliency

  • Develop guidance, standards, and patterns that provide appropriate levels of disaster recovery and data protection for our most critical systems and services, whether on premise, cloud, or SaaS
  • Conduct assessments of existing systems to identify opportunities to uplift their resiliency.
  • Advise project teams on various disaster recovery approaches appropriate for their application, including data protection requirements, data replication techniques, failover and failback methods, and network swings.

Observability

  • Develop guidance and standards for the appropriate tools to be used for logs, traces, APM, user experience, and element monitoring across the entire stack for a given application.
  • Conduct audits of existing systems to identify opportunities to further mature their telemetry
  • Advise project teams as to how to ensure that all aspects of their systems are appropriately monitored.

Architecture Development

  • Lead the establishment of a Technical Advisory Committee for each strategic initiative to ensure that all technical perspectives & voices are considered for every major technical decision, that those decisions are made in a timely manner and they are well documented & communicated.
  • Collaborate with solution/technical architects to deliver architecture artifacts needed for End-to-End Architecture & Solution Architecture Approach deliverables
  • Apply architectural and engineering concepts to design solutions that meet operational requirements, such as scalability, maintainability, security, reliability, extensibility, flexibility, availability, and manageability.
  • Collaborate with domain architects, engineers, and leaders to develop technical standards, reference architectures, design patterns, opinion papers, and architecture decision frameworks that guide the design of technology solutions, especially those requiring integration of multiple platforms, operating systems, and applications across the enterprise.
  • Communicate and advocate for the usage of Advocate [and drive adoption] of best practices to ensure standardization of business architecture outputs across the enterprise

Experiences, Skills, Training

Required

  • BA/BS in computer science/technology or business, or equivalent work experience
  • 10 years in IT/IS
  • Experience working in a complex, geographically distributed working environment
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to influence engineers, peers, and senior stakeholders to consensus decisions
  • Performed the role of architect for multiple major transformational initiatives
  • Enterprise Architecture experience
  • Deep & broad technical expertise in multiple of the following technical domains:
    • Network
    • Cloud & Multi-cloud
    • Data protection, disaster recovery, high availability

Preferred

  • TOGAF certification


The hiring range for this remote position is $189,300.00 to $253,800.00 per year, which factors in various geographic regions. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
