The Product & Data Engineering team is responsible for end to end development for Disney’s world-class consumer-facing products, including streaming platforms Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN+, and digital products & experiences across ESPN, Marvel, Disney Studios, NatGeo, and ABC News. The team drives innovation at scale for millions of consumers around the world across Apple, Android, Smart TVs, game consoles, and the web, with our platforms powering core experiences like personalization, search, messaging and data.
What You Will Do
The Apple team responsible for building Disney+ is seeking a Software Engineer I who will be an outstanding addition to our team. As a developer for Disney+, you will contribute to building our iOS, tvOS, and visionOS applications for the App Store. The right person for this role can continuously learn and improve to deliver high-quality testable code, while working closely with our product and design teams to deliver a delightful experience to our viewers. If you are someone who is excited about making an impact in the video streaming space and are passionate about code, this will be a phenomenal role for you.
- Build features for iOS, tvOS and visionOS using Swift and SwiftUI.
- Maintain a high level of code quality with each feature delivery by including unit and integration tests.
- Collaborate with other client platform teams to ensure a great user experience for all Disney+ viewers.
- Continuously expand skills in Apple technologies such as UIKit, SwiftUI, Swift Structured Concurrency to build a world-class application.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Understanding of computer science fundamentals, including object-oriented programming, data structures, and algorithms
- Experience in agile processes to help the team be effective and efficient.
- A desire to learn and grow with the team, while also helping others grow by sharing your own knowledge and insights.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience building multi-screen mobile applications, ideally using Apple technologies such as UIKit or SwiftUI, and Swift Structured Concurrency.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software, Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or comparable field of study, and/or equivalent work experience
The hiring range for this position in Seattle, WA and NY, NY is $98,000 to $131,300 per year based on a 40 hour work week. The amount of hours scheduled per week may vary based on business needs. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
