This internship role will work alongside experienced engineers and researchers to help design, develop, and implement AI-powered solutions at Disney. You will contribute to projects involving machine learning, natural language processing, computer vision, recommendation systems, and more.
You will report to Senior Manager, AI Development.
The dates of this internship are May/June 2026 through August/September 2026.
What You Will Do
Work alongside Product and SWE team to understand requirements and build standards.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to design and develop AI-driven features and applications.
Assist in building, training, and evaluating machine learning models under the guidance of senior engineers.
Help preprocess, clean, and analyze large-scale datasets using modern data tools and libraries.
Participate in code reviews and contribute to a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
Troubleshoot and debug software issues, ensuring the scalability and reliability of AI services.
Document technical approaches, experiments, and implementations.
Required Qualifications & Skills
Experience building RAG applications using frameworks like langchain, langGraph, etc.
Good understanding of Language Models such as Google Gemini, OpenAI GPT, Nova, Mistral etc.
Understanding of LLM evaluation techniques and prompt engineering basics.
Effective problem-solving and communication skills.
Understands multi-agentic workflows in context for building LLM applications.
Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Go, Python, Java, or C++.
Exposure to machine learning frameworks like TensorFlow, PyTorch, or scikit-learn (coursework or internships accepted).
Familiarity with data structures, algorithms, and software engineering best practices.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Eagerness to learn new technologies and adapt to evolving project needs.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications & Skills
Internship, hackathon, research, or personal project experience with AI or machine learning.
Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
Experience with data visualization libraries/tools (e.g., Matplotlib, Tableau).
Passion for storytelling, entertainment technology, or innovative guest experiences.
Education
Currently enrolled as a junior or senior pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or other STEM related field at an accredited college or university.
Eligibility Requirements & Program Information
Candidates for this opportunity MUST meet all the below requirements:
Be enrolled in an accredited college/university taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) prior to participation in the internship program OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship
Current Disney Interns, College, International, or Culinary Program Participants: You may only work for ONE consecutive year (12 months) in any combination of an internship and/or program.
Be at least 18 years of age
Possess unrestricted work authorization
Additional Information

Able to provide/have reliable transportation to/from work
Fully available from Monday-Friday for the duration of the internship, 40 hours per week
