Working in a highly collaborative way with regional and global partners, this role partners with regional functions including Strategy, Insights, Finance, Content, Marketing, Partnerships, Legal, Corporate Communications and Business Operations, and with global functions including Technical Account Management and Product teams. APAC Product team also supports external device/platform and promotional partners in the region.

Reporting to the Product Manager (APAC) based in Seoul, South Korea, this role is located in Seoul, South Korea, and exists within a small Product team with APAC responsibilities, located in Melbourne and South Korea. It serves the Disney+ business across Japan, Korea, Australia, New Zealand, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Singapore markets.
 

Areas of Responsibility:


Product Management

  • Support activities that enable the APAC Product team to be a clear, persuasive and collegiate voice for the APAC customer and business, articulating product goals and initiatives clearly linked to business strategy and grounded in impactful commercial outcomes based on data-rich assumptions and financial forecasts. 
  • Contribute to the definition and delivery of a regional product roadmap and prioritised backlog for Disney+ in Japan, Korea, Australia, New Zealand, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Singapore markets, with compelling business justifications aligned to global and regional DTC strategy.
  • Follow a defined product ‘intake’ process with Regional and Global Product and collaborate closely with regional teams to identify and raise product requests, and prepare solid business case / justification materials.
  • Support Product Managers in preparing business justifications and other materials for APAC executives to review and present for global Technology Roadmap consideration. Assist Global Product & Engineering teams with initiative discovery, definition, delivery, and timelines.
  • Follow and improve processes for clear communication back to Global and Regional executives and other business stakeholders through regular status updates, showcases and roadmap readouts. 

Partnerships & Technical Accounts

  • Support device/platform and promotional partners in the region, particularly South Korea partners and the South Korea Partnerships team, with product and technology elements of activities including (but not limited to): Technical integrations (app, billing API, metadata feed); Device/Platform updates (software, firmware, hardware); Major product updates such as pricing; Promotional codes; Partner customer journeys (sales funnel to redemption and sign-up); T&Cs, FAQs, VX communications, and Corp Comms briefings.
  • Contribute to partnership cadences, including weekly calls with partners and global Technical Account Management, Product and PMO teams, and quarterly business reviews. 

Professional Development

  • With your line manager, participate in regular quality conversations and self-identify learning opportunities for professional development, including development of practical expertise as a product professional, and essential skills such as teamwork, effective business communication, growth mindset, and other leadership qualities. 
  • As a Product Associate with potential for eventual career progression to a Product Manager, exhibit professional conduct and a growth mindset, and the ability to work under general supervision and direction, while collaborating across functions and reporting lines, and seeking and acting on feedback.
  • Assist the Product Manager (APAC) with workflow planning, focussed on South Korea, but providing coverage in other APAC markets as required.

Ideal Experience:

  • 2+ years in consumer product-related roles, preferably for streaming and/or subscription products.
  • Strong critical thinking, teamwork, communication, organizational and time management skills.
  • Good understanding of the streaming and media landscape, market forces, and consumer behaviour.
  • Proficient with relevant collaboration tools such as JIRA and Confluence, data analytics and visualisation tools such as Looker, and modelling tools such as Excel. Expertise in CRM systems such as Salesforce an advantage.
  • Fluent in English and Korean languages (spoken and written). Multi-lingual in Asian languages an advantage but not essential. 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
