About the Role & Team
We’re looking for an experienced professional to join our Disney+ EMEA team as Sports Manager, Disney+ EMEA.
Disney+ is looking for an experienced and sports-savvy individual to assist with the strategic launch of its ESPN sports brand as well as the ongoing sustain of its sport content in-service. The role will sit in the Disney+ Programming team and will be based in the Amsterdam office. Responsibilities will include strategic planning, integration of sports into content planning, regional and local prioritisation, artwork management and reporting & analytics.
This role will require you to be working 4 days a week in our office and 1 day from home.

What You Will Do
Overall integration of sports programming into other merch responsibilities
Sport/competition launch strategy
Ongoing Personalised Hero prioritisation and clash management
Pinned set management
Fulfilment of contractual obligations (e.g. minimum exposure guarantees)
SVOD and shoulder content strategy
Regional/local variation in sports strategy
Dialogue with markets on preferred sports
Prioritisation and approvals of local sport against content slate
Strategy around local artwork optimisation to highlight key local talent
Close contact with markets around new launch plans
Liaising with regional Creative team for approvals
Launch and sustain strategy for ESPN landing pages
Engagement-led launch strategy, framework and positioning
Data-led evolution of sports featuring
Pinned set and featured IP management
Live & Upcoming set management
Oversight of bespoke sports collections and pages
Sports competition collection strategy
Oversight and approval of asset creation
Oversight of fulfilment and delivery
Oversight of CMS builds and management
Team and Sports page strategy
Reporting and evolution of sports strategy
Working with Analytics to set sports performance metrics
Daily reporting for live/replays
Subsequent evolution of sports strategy based on performance (placements and duration)
Product alignment
Strategy for relevant feature upgrades and rollouts
Build improvements for sports algo recommendations
Strategy for post-play and audience targeting (TBC)
Cross-team syncs
Regular Catch ups with leads for Planning, Ops and Creative
Regular Catch Ups with leads at ESPN
Regular Catch Ups with leads for Product, Personalisation and Analytics
Required Qualifications & Skills
2 years of experience of managing sports or working on a platform with integrated sports
Experience of working on a broadcast or SVOD environment
Exceptional knowledge of sport, user behaviours and competitor platform strategy
Experience working on sport across multiple European markets preferred
Experience of working within a CMS preferred
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Fluent in English and Dutch, both writen and spoken
Ability to produce and deliver high quality presentations via Powerpoint
Ability to embrace new technologies that the role will be required to feed into
Preferred experience with Airtable, Google Sheets/Excel, Microsoft Teams
