Job Summary:

About the Role & Program

The Communications Event Systems intern supports the planning and execution of events of various size and complexity. While based at the Disneyland Resort, this role may involve working on projects supporting other DX Communications Events businesses.  The Event Solutions team operates as a full-scale internal event agency offering various event services.  You will support the team in creating and executing industry-leading digital guest communications for media events that garner widespread traditional and social media coverage and digital relevancy. You will assist with the development and improvement of current and new event systems that support our business. You’ll join a team of high-performing communications and events professionals who exude transformational thinking, creativity, and collaborative partnership.

What you will do:

  • Create email and web-based communication templates using basic graphic/web design skills including HTML/CSS. Projects may include guest-facing event microsites, custom email invitations, and visually engaging save-the-dates.
  • Develop process documentation and user training materials for key platforms such as project tracking, text messaging, resource scheduling, and guest management systems.
  • Brainstorm and propose new digital tools and workflow solutions to enhance team efficiency and event execution.
  • Support the daily priorities of the Event Solutions team, focusing on maintaining and improving the digital tools and software used across all event disciplines.
  • Assist with developing and coordinating key project/event documents, including agendas, timelines, presentations, and event recaps.

Required Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated computer proficiency with both Windows and Mac OS, including Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, etc.) and ability to learn new software.
  • Previous hands-on experience with Wordpress, including basic html/java-script knowledge.
  • Excellent computer skills, including database use/management, and solid understanding of Microsoft Excel, Word, Access and Powerpoint, Google Suite, etc.
  • Basic understanding of project/event management methodologies and experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
  • You are creative, nimble, disruptive to the status quo and genuinely optimistic.
  • You offer a fresh perspective and remain laser focused on ROI and relevancy.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally and work a flexible schedule that may include evenings, nights, and weekends.

Desired Qualifications:

  • An appreciation for the Disney brand and understanding of the many global businesses represented within Disney Experiences.
  • Experience working with Salesforce, Smartsheets, Adobe Workfront, Monday.com, or other web-based collaboration and project management platforms.
  • An understanding of internal systems EventsWithDisney (Certain), Swoogo, TWDCEvents, or other Disney-approved event management software.
  • Experience working in a UI/UX design role or collaborating with a UI/UX design team.

Education:

  • Be enrolled in an accredited college/university taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) prior to participation in the internship program OR must have graduated from a college/university within 6 months at the time of application posting OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship.
  • Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in in Marketing, Event Planning, Communications, Information Science or related major.

Eligibility Requirements & Program Information:

Candidates for this opportunity MUST meet all of the requirements below

  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Have not completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or program.
  • Possess unrestricted work authorization

Additional Information:

  • The approximate dates of this internship are January 2025 through June 2025
  • This internship is located in Anaheim, CA; candidates should be receptive to providing their own transportation and housing for the duration of the internship
  • Be compliant with The Disney Look appearance guidelines
  • Able to have a consistent, reliable work schedule throughout the internship.
  • You are expected to work FULL-TIME hours (approximately 40 per week) during the internship.
