Consumer Insight, Measurement & Analytics is part of the Disney Experiences segment of The Walt Disney Company. We influence data-driven and consumer-centric decision making with integrated, objective, and actionable insights.

As a Sales Channel Planning & Analytics Manager with Sales Analytics & Insights, you will enable insight and analysis related to Disneyland Resort that help influence commercial recommendations and uncover opportunities to grow revenue and manage costs. The successful candidate will leverage multiple data sources to deliver clear and actionable insights and influence within the organization.

This role reports to a Senior Manager within Sales Analytics and Insights, and will be based in Anaheim, CA.

What You Will Do

We are a fast-paced team of professionals that enable data-driven capabilities and sales performance analytics for the Disney Destinations Sales Solutions organization. We provide sales insights to support Commercial requests, assess performance among third parties, and develop and measure sales initiatives to drive business performance. We also leverage various reporting technologies using multiple data sources.

Each day the role of a Sales Channel Planning & Analytics Manager is robust and evolving! Day to day responsibilities might include:

  • Develop new efficiencies and processes for extracting and integrating big data sets
  • Develop and evaluate annual sales performance goals while understanding risks and opportunities to the business
  • Leverage data mining tools such as SAS, Teradata SQL, and Dataiku
  • Develop and improve Tableau dashboards highlighting sales insights and trends
  • Actively monitor and analyze business results, proactively communicating important trends
  • Develop an understanding of different internal and external sales-related systems to leverage for commercial insights
  • Monitor industry trends, benchmark where appropriate and communicate implications
  • Provide data and insights for meetings, presentations, and ad hoc requests
  • Contribute to multiple short- and long-term projects simultaneously under changing and challenging constraints
  • Participate in business strategy discussions and be a critical thought partner
  • Foster relationships with internal departments and project partners
  • Partner with other data and analytical teams on analyses, advanced analytical models, project prioritization and reporting opportunities

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Five+ years of experience in business analytics or similar, preferably within the travel/hospitality industry
  • Proven problem-solving, critical thinking skills, financial and eye for business
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to partner with others and deal effectively with multiple projects and changing priorities
  • Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to develop and articulate actionable, fact-based, insights and recommendations simply to all levels of leadership
  • Ability to identify and handle issues proactively and decisively with limited direction and oversight
  • Experience working with reporting and analytical tools such as SAS, Teradata SQL, Tableau, Business Objects, etc
  • Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver persuasive presentations to senior executives
  • Team collaboration and experience working cross-functionally across different teams
  • Data and/or Business analytics experience
  • Walt Disney Parks and Resorts experience
  • Travel industry experience

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with concentration in Business, Data Analysis, Statistics, Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, Finance or similar field
  • Master’s degree or equivalent experience with a concentration in Business Administration, Data Mining & Analysis, Statistics, Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, Finance or similar field preferred

The hiring range for this position in Anaheim, CA is $102,000 to $136,700 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
