As a Senior Safety Professional, you will be an important resource. You will drive the identification, assessment, analysis, and solving of a broad spectrum of safety issues across a diverse group of Walt Disney Parks and Resorts businesses.
The Senior Safety Professional will report to a Safety Manager.
This is Project Hire/Internal Assignment with no guarantee of permanent placement with an estimated end date of 7/31/27.
What You Will Do
On any given day, as a Senior Safety Professional, you might:
- Work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing multiple projects simultaneously
- Drive the implementation of safety initiatives, performing job task analysis, analyzing injury and illness trend data, evaluating safety performance, finding opportunities to improve safety performance
- Lead and/or participate in incident investigations and follow-ups
- Improve performance, review source material (rules, codes, laws, and standards) identifies and share industry practices
- Ensure implementation of applicable safety standards and established regulations
- Manage relationships and work as part of a team within a matrix environment with all levels of leadership and employees
- Engage and collaborate with local partners to drive and ensure consistency
- Collaborate with food safety professionals to support daily operations
- Identify opportunities to improve safety in areas such as food and beverage and warehouses
- Participate in industrial hygiene monitoring and ergonomic assessments
- Perform risk assessments to identify hazards and propose mitigations
- Deploy analytics and trends to improve safety
Required Qualifications & Skills
Here’s what you need to be successful at this job:
- 5+ years of occupational safety experience or relevant safety experience
- Knowledge of relevant industry standards
- Experience with strategic thinking, prioritization, and initiation of tasks
- Experience with proper writing, speaking, and presenting to all levels
- Resolve conflicts and diffuse difficult situations
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in the entertainment and/or manufacturing industries
- Associate Safety Professional (ASP) or Certified Safety Professional (CSP) designation
- Food and Beverage safety experience
Education
- Bachelor's Degree in Safety, Environmental Health, Occupational Health or related field
Preferred Education
- Master’s Degree in related field
The hiring range for this position in Anaheim, CA is $105,100 to $140,900 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
