Job Overview

As part of the Theme Parks Operations Finance team for the Disneyland Resort, this role will drive business results through strong partnerships and strategic analysis. This role is part of a collaborative and fast-paced finance team who values relationship building, strategic thinking, and process transformation. The analyst will work closely with operations partners to provide day-to-day financial support, including offering input and recommendations on new business initiatives and developing financial plans and forecasts.

The ideal candidate will possess strong communication, partnering, and analytical skills. The candidate will have a natural curiosity to understand the “why” behind business performance, a proactive approach to problem-solving and driving improvements, and a results-oriented mindset.

Responsibilities

Each day as a Senior Financial Analyst on the Theme Parks Operations Finance is different. Responsibilities include:

  • Collaborating with partners to review financial results, perform ad hoc analysis, propose recommendations to drive initiatives, and identify financial impacts for strategic opportunities.
  • Developing financials for forecasts, annual operating plans, and long-term plans, including cost trending analysis and operating income cause-of-change analysis.
  • Driving efficiency through process improvements, including maintaining and creating financial models, templates, and planning processes.
  • Creating new dashboards and analytical tools to derive insights from data analytics.
  • Developing strategic and financial analyses to evaluate ongoing and new business initiatives related to theme parks and various business lines.
  • Creating and delivering presentations that effectively convey data and analysis to partners at all levels, demonstrating the ability to adjust terminology based on the audience.

Required Qualifications

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in finance, accounting, data analytics, business development or relevant analytically oriented functions
  • A Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Business Analytics, Data Science, or a related field.
  • A collaborative team player who thrives in a team environment and enjoys partnering with others across the organization.
  • A problem solver who is naturally curious, has a strong work ethic, and is self-motivated
  • Experience in financial modeling and profitability/cost analysis, including key decision metrics such as NPV, IRR, and Operating Income analysis
  • Demonstrated strong communication skills, including the ability to create and deliver engaging presentations to diverse audiences.
  • The ability to explain complex analytics in a way that is easily understandable and executable, and enjoy “storytelling” to engage and influence your audience.  Familiar with data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau)

Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with proven experience in financial modeling and analysis.

  • Proficiency in basic data visualization techniques, as well as advanced skills in Excel and PowerPoint.
  • The ability to prioritize projects, manage tight deadlines, perform responsibilities accurately, and achieve effective results in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with minimal supervision.
  • Experience with SAP, Longview, or similar financial planning systems.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Proven experience and a strong understanding of SAP, company hierarchy, Business Analysis Reporting, and Longview planning tools.
  • Strong technical ability [finance discipline, software, simple data mgmt (SQL, Macros), visualization (Tableau, Power BI), project management]
  • Familiarity with Walt Disney Parks & Resorts operations, business units, and product offerings.

The hiring range for this position in Anaheim, California is $103,400 to $126,200.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
