ESPN is seeking a dynamic Director to lead ESPN FP&A and engagement with our equity owners.  This individual will develop executive-level performance updates, insights, and communications for ESPN executives and Disney partners.   Additionally, this leader will manage financial projections and reporting for the ESPN Board and financial leaders across our equity owners. This individual will interact with a wide range of ESPN leaders and gain an understanding of the ESPN business by working closely with these leaders to analyze financial performance and develop actionable insights and recommendations.

 

This leader will also be responsible for furthering the growth and professional development of a highly performing team. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Business partnering & leadership support: Lead a team in developing consolidated financial forecast communications, including Board meeting presentations and financial analysis for senior leadership.

  • Prepare performance updates for equity owner management teams and key finance stakeholders.

  • Strategic forecasting: Develop robust, data-driven cash flow and dividend projections for ESPN equity owners.

  • Finance modernization & transformation: Assist in driving finance transformation initiatives, including the integration of the ESPN P&L into a new finance system.

  • Lead and develop a team of professionals, with a focus on career development and a strong, positive team environment.

Basic Qualifications

  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant work experience.

  • Dynamic leader and effective manager who leads by example, spurs collaboration, and mentors a team to meet high-profile, wide-ranging objectives.

  • Ability to drive change and challenge assumptions while maintaining a consultative, constructive approach with colleagues and partners.

  • Ability to translate financial information and drive decision-making across multiple business audiences, including stakeholders, corporate, and segment teams.

  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills combined with solid business and financial acumen.

  • Strong relationship-building skills and a highly professional, client-service orientation.

  • Ability to interact with all levels of management.

  • Flexible, special-projects orientation coupled with strong multi-tasking abilities.

  • High energy level and strong work ethic; self-driven and results-oriented.

  • Demonstrated track record of process improvement and best-practice implementation.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Business Administration.

Preferred Qualifications & Education

  • MBA or CPA preferred.

  • Previous work experience in entertainment or sports FP&A is a plus.

The hiring range for this position in Bristol, Connecticut is $184,800.00 to $225,800.00 per year and in New York City, NY is $193,600 to $236,600 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
