About the Role & Program:
Platform Distribution Operations is focused on the design and implementation of business processes for efficient management and operation of all media distribution, including theatrical, linear networks, SVOD/AVOD, transactional, syndication, and direct-to-consumer products. Platform Distribution Operations collaborates with, influences and directs prioritization of work with Technology, Disney Streaming, Studio Operations, Broadcast Operations, ESPN and WDTV Programming and Production, ESPN and WDTV Legal, Accounting, Finance, Research and Marketing and Disney Ad Sales and with external distribution partners, sports league partners, software and hardware vendors, content delivery service providers and consultants.
As our intern, you will assist the Network Management team within Platform Distribution Operations with day-to-day business needs, providing pre-sale and sales support, post-sale execution, and partner management. You will support multiple initiatives simultaneously that will drive process improvement for content distribution across various lines of business.
What You Will Do:
- Sort data integrity initiatives to ensure accurate system records and reporting.
- Compile and analyze large volumes of data in Excel and validate against rights and product information in key systems.
- Support tasks and deliverables related to Technical Negotiations, Systems and Process Management, Data/Advertising integrations, Rights Management and Network Management and participate in user acceptance testing as needed.
- Assist the team in the development of presentations, training materials, and reports.
- Create and build relationships with counterparts across TWDC in sales, operations, production, digital media, legal, accounting, etc. and externally with distributors, business partners, vendors, and technology developers to aid in self-learning, support job functions, and to advance the goals of Platform Distribution.
- Develop relationships with business stakeholders and various technology and operations teams to identify, define and assist with projects to advance the overall business goals of Platform Distribution and inform technology roadmaps.
- Contribute to a team environment that is open and inclusive and encourages candor, communication and collaboration.
Required Experience/Skills:
- Experience with Microsoft Office – specifically Excel
Preferred Experience/Skills:
- Experience with Airtable, SharePoint and Smartsheet is a plus
Education:
- Junior or Senior year preferred
- Major or coursework in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Advertising, Business Administration, or other related major preferred
Eligibility Requirements & Program Information:
- Be enrolled in an accredited college/university pursuing a degree taking at least one class at time of application OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship.
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Possess unrestricted work authorization
Additional Information:
- Able to have a consistent, reliable work schedule throughout the in-person internship located in Bristol, Connecticut.
- Fully available from Monday – Friday for the duration of the internship, 40 hours each week
- Able to provide own housing for the duration of the internship program
The pay rate for this role in Connecticut is $22.50 per hour.
