How will you contribute to our magical experience?
The Manager, Retention & Churn Strategy Disney+ is a senior commercial leader responsible for driving subscriber retention and minimizing churn for Disney+ across Latin America. This role owns the regional retention agenda end‑to‑end, orchestrating cross‑functional efforts to protect and grow subscriber lifetime value.
Operating at the intersection of Product, Payments, Marketing, Content Operations & Strategy, Analytics, Finance, and Partnerships, this role serves as the central integrator and decision driver for all initiatives impacting churn. Success in this role requires strong commercial judgment, analytical rigor, and the ability to influence across a complex, matrixed organization.
The Manager, Retention & Churn Strategy Disney+ will be responsible for:
Churn & Retention Leadership
- Own and lead the regional retention strategy, including medium‑term roadmap definition and prioritization of high‑impact initiatives.
- Coordinate all churn‑related efforts across the organization, ensuring alignment across Product, Payments, Marketing, Content, and Commercial teams.
- Establish and scale experimentation and testing frameworks to systematically assess retention levers and optimize outcomes.
- Drive payments optimization and friction reduction initiatives, with a strong focus on involuntary churn and recovery.
- Partner closely with Analytics, Product & Payments, and Finance to identify core churn drivers and translate insights into clear, actionable interventions.
- Track, evaluate, and communicate performance and financial impact of retention initiatives, ensuring accountability and continuous optimization.
Commercial Business Case Development
- Lead the development of commercial business cases for existing and new retention initiatives, in collaboration with Pricing & Promotions, Product, Marketing, and other operational teams.
- Evaluate feasibility, scalability, risk, and expected P&L impact, ensuring recommendations are grounded in financial discipline.
- Translate analytical insights into clear executive narratives, presenting data‑backed recommendations to senior leadership to inform strategic decision‑making.
- Act as a trusted thought partner to regional and global stakeholders on retention‑related trade‑offs and investments.
BAU Performance Ownership & Executive Reporting
- Own Business‑As‑Usual (BAU) performance reporting for Retention and Churn across the region, ensuring: consistent, high‑quality KPI definitions and tracking, clear visibility against targets and performance benchmarks and action‑oriented insights for leadership forums
- Shape the ongoing retention performance narrative, connecting results, trends, root causes, and corrective levers.
- Ensure leadership has a clear, forward‑looking view of retention risks and opportunities, not just historical performance.
Key Stakeholders:
- Product & Payments, Content Programming, Regional and Global Leadership, Growth Marketing, Analytics & Data, Partnerships & Business Development, Finance Planning & Controllership.
What we need from you to be part of this story:
- 5+ years of experience in strategy, retention, or growth roles within dynamic, consumer-facing businesses with a regional scope.
- Strong strategic thinking with the ability to translate business priorities into actionable initiatives.
- Data-informed mindset, able to move from insight to execution and measurable impact.
- Proven ability to orchestrate and manage cross-functional stakeholders, driving initiatives end-to-end.
- Strong business judgment with a focus on long-term value creation.
- Clear and compelling communication, influencing decision-making at senior levels.
- Advanced English required; Portuguese is a must.
