The Business Management department is a fast-paced, dynamic team whose responsibility is to partner with Marketing and Publicity teams to effectively manage their budgets, track invoices, troubleshoot AP-related issues, and support Finance with reporting.
The Business Management team is seeking a Business Management Coordinator who will be an integral part of the team supporting all DET Marketing and Publicity. The Business Management Coordinator will be reporting to the Department’s Business Manager and will collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive strategic initiatives and maintain compliance with company policies and procedures. In addition, the Business Management Coordinator is responsible for supporting the monthly and quarterly Forecast or Close reports. Also including but not limited to manage budgets to support Business teams to ensure SAP actuals spend is accurate, pending invoices are tracked, and forecasts reconcile to AOP-approved budgets. This involves day-to-day operations ensuring vendors are set up in the system, liaising with Accounts Payable (AP) and Procurement, handling purchase order (PO) exceptions, after-the-fact POs, and, as needed, working with Contingent Workforce Management, HR, and Legal. The Business Management Coordinator is also responsible for re-iterating business management processes that will solve business teams’ needs, such as working with HR to pay Daily Hires in Workday and Kronos. The Business Management Coordinator needs to submit internal budget adjustments via journal entries or external adjustments via billbacks. We are looking for a professional who can build relationships and trust and who has the resourcefulness to tackle any assignment, think through it, and readily grasp the most efficient and effective way to get to the goal.
Responsibilities
Provide an expertise in business operations, budget management, and strategic planning.
Review budget reports and scenarios with Business Manager, incorporating actuals and commitments to drive strategic budget management decisions.
Interpret internal and external business challenges and lead projects.
Re-iterate existing business finance operations processes, such as managing Daily Hire Onboarding, Workday, SAP, or Kronos, including training, reviewing, and providing guidance.
Connect and communicate with all levels of management.
Communicate difficult concepts clearly.
Foster collaboration and build relationships across departments to achieve shared objectives.
Ensure internal controls are followed.
Be compliant with the Walt Disney Company Policy and Procedures in managing business finance operations through partnering with Finance and the DET Marketing and Publicity teams.
Preserve integrity of the vendor master database to mitigate risk to company data and/or assets.
Basic Qualifications
Work experience in Business, Accounting, or Finance ideally at a streaming or entertainment company.
Self‐starter with critical thinking, attention-to-detail, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to multi-task and learn quickly in a fast-paced environment.
A positive, team-oriented attitude to fit our culture.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
SAP, Workday, and Payroll knowledge a plus.
Working knowledge of MS Outlook, MS Excel, and Google Drive apps.
Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with Kronos and Airtable.
Required Education
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related major, or equivalent years of experience.
The hiring range for this position in Burbank, CA is $54,000 to $72,300 per year based on a 40 hour work week. The amount of hours scheduled per week may vary based on business needs. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
