About the Role & Team

The Walt Disney Company’s IP Legal Department is seeking a Clearance Coordinator to join the Theme Park Rights Administration Group. The Rights Administration Group reviews Disney Theme Park and Resorts projects for intellectual property concerns and negotiates and manages licenses for use of third-party rights for the DX- Parks & Resorts segment.

What You Will Do:

  • Assist Disney's Rights Administration Division with the review and management of third-party intellectual properties featured in the DX Parks & Resorts segments worldwide
  • Maintain and update calendar reminder tracking system and distribute calendar reminder memos for upcoming theme park license expirations and annual contract payments.
  • Maintain and update license agreements database and filing system
  • Develop familiarity with license agreements and terms used by the department and assist more senior team members with template searches and formatting of licenses
  • Submit third party approvals for review under supervision
  • Other projects as may arise from time to time

Required Qualifications & Skills:

  • 1+ years of support experience in a legal or IP-related environment
  • Familiarity with intellectual property law and related legal frameworks 
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently 
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills 
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency with MS Office Suite, Adobe software, database software, and document management software
  • Strong research skills
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to effectively prioritize workload and pay attention to detail.
  • Ability to multi-task and handle multiple demands
  • Ability to recognize and eliminate inefficiencies

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in the entertainment industry or a related field 
  • Familiarity with global intellectual property regulations 
  • Experience with contract negotiation and management
  • Familiarity with NetDocs filing system

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree

The hiring range for this position in the Greater Los Angeles area is $59,600 to $79,800 per year based on a 40 hour work week. The amount of hours scheduled per week may vary based on business needs. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
