Department Overview:
We are seeking a Data Analyst to support our enterprise consumer data initiatives. In this role, you will help drive business insights and value by discovering, validating, and organizing data, enabling cross-functional teams to make smarter business decisions and deliver exceptional guest experiences. Your work will help ensure our data is accurate, accessible, and translated into meaningful outcomes across Disney.
Job Summary:
As a key member of the team, you will play an integral part in driving data discovery, validating business metrics, and making complex datasets intelligible and actionable. You’ll collaborate with Marketing, Audience, Data Engineering, Product, and Governance partners to query and evaluate new and existing data assets, create clean and trusted datasets, and support development of analytics of key business and customer trends. You will own the process of evaluating, documenting, and quality checking data sources that power analysis, dashboards, and activation efforts across Disney’s brands and segments.
Responsibilities:
Explore and evaluate enterprise customer data sources, uncovering valuable insights and opportunities for business impact.
Validate and document operational data metrics; ensure accuracy, consistency, and transparency of data to be used for analytical reporting.
Organize, transform, and document complex datasets into user-friendly formats for analytics and business partners.
Partner with Engineering team on ETL, schema design, and data transformations to align with marketing and analytics requirements.
Support delivery of data dictionaries, data quality certifications, metric definitions, and business glossary entries for use in data catalog and reporting tools.
Build and maintain clean and trusted datasets for dashboards, ad hoc analysis, and ongoing business intelligence.
Proactively identify data quality issues and work cross-functionally to triage, resolve, and track improvements.
Support analysis initiatives, experimentation, and new reporting needs through data discovery, organization, and validation.
Basic Qualifications:
2+ years in a data analytics, data quality, or related analyst role.
Experience querying and validating datasets using SQL and analytical tools (e.g., Snowflake, Tableau, or similar).
Strong skills in data validation, metric reconciliation, and business definitions.
Familiarity with enterprise data cataloging, data dictionaries, and documentation best practices.
Ability to partner with engineering, marketing, and data governance teams.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in media, entertainment, or a related field.
Working knowledge of data quality, ETL, and audience/CRM analytics.
Exposure to data cataloging tools (e.g., Alation), data modeling, and privacy compliance (e.g., CCPA, GDPR, VPPA).
Experience supporting cross-functional business intelligence or analytics teams.
The hiring range for this position in Burbank, CA is $89,000 - $119,300 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
