Job Summary:

As Director, Compensation, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing the compensation strategy for Disney Entertainment – Television’s diverse business portfolio. In this role, you will have the opportunity to drive transformational change by ensuring our compensation programs are not only competitive and equitable but also aligned with Disney’s strategic business vision and talent management objectives.

This is an ideal position for a dynamic, forward-thinking leader who thrives on building consensus among senior stakeholders—including executives in Human Resources, Legal, and Finance—and who has a passion for proactively leading high-profile projects from conception through successful execution.

What You Will Do:

  • Direct and implement comprehensive compensation strategies and plans that align with Disney's overall business objectives.
  • Lead and manage a team of compensation managers and professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.
  • In collaboration with DET Compensation Leadership, drive high-impact projects and initiatives with a strategic, proactive approach identifying opportunities, potential challenges, and creative solutions at every stage.
  • Analyze market trends and data to ensure competitive and equitable compensation practices.
  • Collaborate with senior leaders to influence and drive compensation decisions that support business goals.
  • Leverage a strong analytic skillset to the HR function, supporting and enabling the use of analytics and data-driven decision making throughout HR.
  • Oversee the administration of compensation programs, including salary structures, incentive plans, and equity programs.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations related to compensation.
  • Communicate compensation strategies and programs to stakeholders, ensuring understanding and alignment.
  • Consistently display initiative, curiosity, and accountability—seeking ways to streamline operations and proactively address challenges.
  • Proactively assess and enhance compensation processes for efficiency, leveraging emerging technologies and AI to drive ongoing innovation.

Preferred Qualifications & Experience:

  • Experience in a large, complex organization
  • Consulting or other business- or HR-functional experience preferred
  • Experience with global compensation programs
  • Advanced degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
  • 7+ years of progressively responsible management experience in a compensation or related field

The hiring range for this position in Burbank, California is $203,600 – $248,800 per year and in New York, New York is $213,300 – $260,500. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
