Geospatial Specialist — Global Security Control Center

The Global Security Control Center (GSCC) is responsible for supporting emergency and non-emergency events, researching global affairs, incoming call mitigation, event dispatching, and event-driven global notification services 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. In an emergency, the team advises and coordinates Disney enterprise assistance and support by providing technical and advisory support for the performance of crucial operational services, the issuance of warnings of risks and hazards, dissemination of employee information, as well as serving the central communication intake point for management, control and reduction of immediate threats to health and safety.
As a Geospatial Specialist, you will play a critical role in supporting the GSCC’s security monitoring systems and operational readiness. In this role, you’ll partner with Global Security teams to integrate geospatial and intelligence data into GSCC platforms, ensuring datasets are accurate, timely, and actionable.
You will standardize data formats, validate sources, and optimize integration workflows to deliver real-time visibility of Disney’s global assets—including events, productions, and guest experiences.Additionally, you’ll design and maintain dynamic visualizations—from detailed map layouts to real-time dashboards—that enhance situational awareness, inform leadership decisions, and support coordinated responses. By leveraging automation and data-driven insights, you will reduce manual effort, improve consistency, and strengthen GSCC’s ability to anticipate and respond to emerging threats.Be a part of the magic today!

- Build and lead partnerships that advance GSCC geospatial capabilities and enhance operational awareness.
- Plot and maintain global Disney assets in security alerting platforms by ingesting updated data from business partners across the enterprise.
- Apply geospatial tools to create visually compelling maps, graphics, and presentations for diverse audiences.
- Brief Global Security leadership on map products and visualizations to communicate insights and drive strategic decisions.
- Provide technical and cartographic support during security incidents to enable rapid decision-making.
- Assist GSCC Specialists and Managers with projects and initiatives that strengthen global security operations.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
- +1 years of professional GIS experience.
- Advanced knowledge of Esri’s ArcGIS suite, including ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Online.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, SharePoint, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams.
- Experience with programming tools and automation platforms, including Python and Power Automate.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Self-starter with strong initiative and attention to detail.
- Ability to work collaboratively while taking direction effectively.
- Adaptability to shift between calm and high-activity work conditions.
- Willingness to learn and master unfamiliar technical systems.
- Sense of urgency and ability to respond quickly in a 24/7 operational environment.
- On-site availability at the Global Security Control Center on the Burbank Studio Lot (Monday–Friday).
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong cartographic design principles for producing clear and impactful map products, including the use of Adobe Illustrator.
- Experience with REST APIs for integrating geospatial services and external data sources.
- Familiarity with scripting for map customization and dynamic content using Arcade expressions and web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript).
- Knowledge of Everbridge and Dataminr security platforms for alerting and incident management.
- Interest in security systems, physical security, threat analysis, and global affairs.

The hiring range for this position in California is $79,400.00-$106,400.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
