About the Role & Program:
The Global Emergency Preparedness & Response Team plays a vital role in safeguarding our people, assets, and operations by supporting both emergency and non-emergency events across the enterprise. We are seeking a Global Emergency Preparedness & Response (GEPR) Intern to join our team and support a broad range of programs that strengthen Disney’s readiness and resilience.
This internship offers hands-on experience with emergency preparedness operations, communications, employee engagement, and technology—ideal for students interested in crisis management, security operations, or organizational resilience.
This internship is a full-time, six-month commitment in the Burbank, CA area from June 2026 – January 2027.
What You Will Do:
As a Global Emergency Preparedness & Response Intern, you will support enterprise-wide readiness initiatives while gaining practical experience in operations, data, and stakeholder engagement. You will collaborate with a global, cross-functional team to contribute to preparedness planning, communications, and continuous improvement efforts.
Key Responsibilities could include:
Support annual emergency supply inventories across multiple sites to ensure accuracy and readiness
Track, document, and coordinate preparedness and response initiatives
Co-develop quarterly communications for Building Emergency Response Team (BERT) volunteers and facilitate monthly content-planning meetings
Create and support internal communications and visual materials
Coordinate Lunch & Learn sessions and other engagement activities for BERT volunteers
Maintain and update dashboards, trackers, and supporting documentation
Assist with basic automations and data entry related to planning and preparedness programs
Required Qualifications & Skills:
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Comfort facilitating group discussions, interacting with Executives and leading defined tasks
Interest in emergency preparedness, crisis operations, or corporate communications
Ability to manage multiple assignments, stay organized, and meet deadlines
Comfortable using Microsoft Office, including Excel (V and H Lookups), as well as Project Management Tools (i.e. Smartsheet, AirTable)
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in project coordination, volunteer programs, or student leadership roles
Basic comfort with dashboards or automation tools
Education:
Junior or Senior year preferred
Major or previous coursework in Emergency Management, Homeland Security, Communications, Public Safety Administration, Business Administration, or a related field.
Eligibility Requirements & Program Information:
Candidates for this opportunity MUST meet all of the below requirements:
Be enrolled in an accredited college/university pursuing a degree taking at least one class at time of application posting OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship
Be at least 18 years of age
Possess unrestricted work authorization
Have not completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or Disney College Program
Additional Information:
Candidate must be fully available to work full time hours (approximately 40 hours per week) for the duration of the internship.
This internship is an on-site position, but also requires a working, reliable internet connection as well as a quiet, dedicated workspace for the days you may work from home.
Able to provide your own housing and reliable transportation for the duration of the internship program

The pay rate for this role in California is $22.50 per hour.
