Reporting directly to the Director of Finance for Disney Music Group (DMG), your team will provide financial support for DMG’s Concerts and U.S. Recorded Music lines of business for all key deliverables, such as Five Year Plan (5YP), Annual Operating Plan (AOP), and quarterly corporate submissions (Forecast, Flash and closes). The Manager will oversee two Senior Financial Analysts, and you will collaborate closely with various partners across the business, including Business Affairs, Production, A&R, Marketing, Sales & Digital, Data Analytics, etc, to drive both our Pro Forma process for U.S. Recorded Music and various business development initiatives for Concerts.
What You Will Do
As the Manager, Finance, you and your team will be responsible for performing financial responsibilities for DMG, including budgeting, forecast modeling, and variance analysis. You will work in partnership with other Finance and Accounting professionals and DMG business partners to accurately report and project financials. Some of these responsibilities include:
- Oversee a team of 2 Senior Financial Analysts, including but not limited to professional development, oversight of work, managing tight deadlines on multiple projects simultaneously, training on business procedures and driving improvement processes and efficiencies
- Lead the Annual Operating Plan (AOP), Forecasts (8 annually), and 5 Year Strategic Planning for DMG Concerts & U.S. Recorded Music businesses
- Liaison closely with Controllership team on close process as it relates to Concerts & U.S. Recorded Music
- Manage and develop financial process efficiencies, share best practices, and ensure procedures are adequately documented for the team
- Exhibit confidence and curiosity mining large datasets in systems such as SAP, Cognos, Business Objects and Tableau, while also expressing enthusiasm in using data aggregation and visual query tools such as Alteryx and Tableau Prep
Required Qualifications & Skills
- 5+ years of finance or accounting experience with keen interest in Entertainment / Music
- Excellent communication and leadership skillset with a constructive curiosity to drive change
- Strong problem solving, project management and time management skills
- Capacity to deeply understand and diplomatically navigate within company cultures
- Ability to work in a fast paced team environment, handle multiple projects simultaneously across multiple disciplines
- Strong relationship builder with the ability to autonomously and diplomatically work through problems
- Working knowledge in key accounting principles
- Strong technical skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Intermediate to advanced Excel modeling skills required.
- Technical experience with mining data in systems such as SAP, Cognos, Business Objects, Alteryx, Tableau Prep or Tableau
- Flexibility in role and duties given the evolving music industry landscape
Education
- Bachelor degree in business, finance, economics, accounting or related field

The hiring range for this position in Burbank, CA is $124,900 to $152,500 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
