Manager, International Production
The Disney Music Group (DMG) is the music hub for The Walt Disney Company, encompassing all aspects of music commercialization and marketing: recorded music (Walt Disney Records and Hollywood Records), Disney Music Publishing, and Disney Concerts. DMG distributes music both physically and digitally, and licenses music throughout the world in various forms of media including television, print, gaming, and consumer products.
Reports to the Director of Production & Distribution. This role manages the proper preparation, distribution and archival of all audio, label copy, graphics, and video content for DMG International.
Guide in the creation of international specific versions for both physical and digital releases - ensuring that all international release dates are met, and high security protocols are followed, working with UMG’s International release management teams and various international manufacturing plants/vendors
Work with Studio International team to facilitate the release of all dubbed Studio soundtracks
Liaise with internal departments and external business partners to achieve product development approvals for all international catalog and frontline releases
Manage multiple digital and physical projects simultaneously, while effectively communicating with various departments within the label, external partners, graphic designers, studios and international counterparts for a heavy release schedule
Manage international operations in relation to A&R Admin, A&R, Asset Management, and Product Development for audio, video and graphic assets
QC product covers in Photoshop to ensure spec requirements for our digital partners
QC audio to ensure spec requirements for our digital partners, working with mastering houses to master international audio requests and then route for local and domestic approvals
Develop, implement, and ensure compliance of improved policies and procedures
Onboard training of all new employees across all INTL territories
Guide design and maintain DMG’s Global Schedule as related to International
production, for both commercial and promotional planningManagement of two direct reports who will assist in all tasks above
Responsibilities:
Works closely with DMG INTL Marketing and UMG INTL Marketing/Production Teams to ensure production timelines are aligned in the release of products from all territories (EMEA, LATAM, SEA, APAC, China, Korea, India, and Japan). Ensures proper release procedures are followed in creation, approvals, archival and distribution of all assets
Facilitates ongoing education of production processes internationally, onboarding INTL colleagues, helping to uncover areas of opportunity on both the DMG and UMG side to implementing new solutions/updating processes as needed - Ensures DMG metadata systems and schedules (as related to INTL Production) are up to date
Manages, develops, and leads others, including 2 direct reports who assist in above tasks
Required Education, Experience/Skills/Training:
At least 4 years of experience in production, the music industry or related field
At least 2 years of experience managing others either directly or indirectly
Strong Work Ethic
Understand the importance of working to deadlines
Must be highly organized demonstrating a strong attention to detail and an understanding of good data and process management
Good working knowledge of excel
Ability to work well under high volume pressure and maintain a cordial demeanor
Self-starter with ability to organize and complete complex tasks with a high level of detail and productivity
Ability to communicate in a highly effective manner verbally and in writing
Ability to develop and maintain relevant and good working relationships in this field of work
Energetic, efficient, excellent time-management skills, with attention to detail, and problem solving
Highly intelligent and adaptable; quick learner with strong work ethic
Strong organizational and follow-through skills
Education
Bachelor’s Degree (Preferred)
The hiring range for this position in Burbank, CA is $81,005 - $107,830 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
