About the Role & Program

The Onyx Collective Publicity team is looking for an intern to help support the publicity efforts for Onyx Collective’s content! Onyx Collective is a premium content brand under Disney Entertainment Television, with programming exclusively available to stream on Hulu in the U.S. and Disney+ internationally!

This role will report to the department’s Publicist and interact directly with the full publicity team and other departments across Disney Entertainment Television and The Walt Disney Company. This position will provide you with the opportunity to understand what a career in Television publicity would entail. The right person for this role is very comfortable working in a fast-paced, creative environment and possesses a strong ability to multitask, prioritize and prioritise multiple projects concurrently.

We’re looking for someone who loves TV as much as we do, has a passion for the entertainment industry, has a ‘can do’ attitude and a ONE TEAM mentality with a hunger to learn more!

What You Will Do

Our intern will be exposed to the day-to-day responsibilities of working in the entertainment communications field, gain understanding of PR campaign building, project management, internal/external communication, and will receive continuous mentorship from dedicated team members.

  • Track online and print press coverage and compile daily clip reports
  • Update department databases such as press contacts, awards, etc.
  • Support team at publicity events
  • Draft internal reporting and various press materials
  • Contribute to brainstorming sessions and publicity strategy meetings
  • Various administrative duties as needed

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Basic knowledge of public relations.
  • Knowledge and excitement for Onyx Collective programming.
  • Proven track record to be a self-starter and effectively problem solve.
  • Detail oriented with strong ability in written and verbal communication
  • ONE TEAM attitude with the ability and desire to interact with people at all management levels
  • Superb work ethic and positive, can-do attitude
  • Must be a self-starter and a multi-task-oriented individual with strong organizational skills and have a strong ability for independent work

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous internship experience in public relations preferred
  • Exceptional skills with Microsoft Suite Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Keynote

Education

  • Be enrolled in an accredited college/university taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) prior to participation in the internship program OR must have graduated from a college/university within 6 months at time of application posting OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship
  • A student studying in their senior year or a recent graduate within 6 months of graduation date
  • Major or previous coursework in Communications, Public Relations or related major preferred

Eligibility Requirements & Program Information

  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Possess unrestricted work authorization
  • Have not completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or Disney College Program

Additional Information

  • Able to have a consistent, reliable work schedule throughout the internship
  • The approximate dates of this internship are January 2025 through June 2025
  • Availability to work full-time hours (approximately 40 hours per week) for the duration of the internship, most hours being in person, with possible days working from home. Preferably 9am-6pm PT, Monday - Friday, but may include some nights/weekends
  • Able to provide own housing for the duration internship program in the Burbank, CA area
  • Able to provide/have reliable transportation to/from work

The pay rate for this role in California is $22.00 per hour.
