Department Overview:
Join the Disney Corporate Brand team, collaborating directly with the Director, Platform Operations & Governance, Program Manager, and Sr. Data Governance Manager. We drive visibility, transparency, and operational excellence for Disney’s enterprise-wide consumer data initiatives, empowering all segments with trusted data and streamlined governance.
Job Summary:
As the Operations Analyst, you’ll serve as the team’s single point of contact for surfacing insight across cross enterprise project operations and governance; translating logs, metadata, and data quality signals from tools like Alation, Snowflake, and other portals into clear, actionable reporting for our team, our partners, and leadership. You’ll take the lead on auditing and reporting across data tagging, use cases, access, change management, data quality, retention and deletion, and policy compliance, and you’ll keep the project ops and governance portal current as the central hub where that insight lives. This position ensures our team’s work is visible, accessible, and actionable for stakeholders across the company, serving as both an insights/audit lead and a portal product owner and champion for enterprise transparency.
Responsibilities:
Log Analysis & Operational Reporting:
Analyze logs and activity across data tagging, use cases, access, and change management to produce recurring reporting and insight. Track and manage use case requests within the portal, and summarize data quality reporting (in partnership with the data quality manager) with insights published back to the portal for stakeholders.
Privacy & Governance Reporting:
Build reports and visualizations on privacy adherence for weekly privacy reviews, and prepare reporting and insight used in the Data Governance Council. Conduct retention and deletion audits and reporting to ensure data is handled in line with policy.
Governance Council Support:
Support the Data Governance Council by capturing and managing meeting transcripts and recordings, and preparing supporting reports and insight for council discussions.
Data Quality & Discoverability:
Using Alation, deliver metadata insights, track data stewardship, and audit data curation activity (percent curated, gaps in critical areas, ownership awareness). Consolidate data quality outputs into readable, business-level quality insights for the project, and surface insights from data profiling efforts on new data sources. Develop data lineage insights (where data comes from and its provenance) and publish high-level lineage understanding to the portal so users understand what this project provides them.
Policies & Standards Compliance:
Conduct audits against data policies and standards to manage and report on compliance across this project.
Central Portal Ownership:
Lead the development requirements, enhancement, and maintenance of the central operations and data governance portal, ensuring it serves as a one-stop hub for all governance initiatives, resources, and communications.
Portal Content & Navigation:
Partner with governance, program, engineering, and business teams to curate, update, and organize resources such as project dashboards, data quality metrics, catalog documentation, compliance updates, and best practices.
Stakeholder Engagement & Socialization:
Drive active adoption and usage of the portal across teams through regular outreach, demonstrations, training sessions, and ongoing communications. Gather user feedback for continuous improvement.
Transparency & Reporting:
Develop and publish dashboards, alerts, and status updates through the portal to surface progress, wins, risks, and blockers for leadership and cross-functional partners.
Collaboration:
Work closely with Sr. Data Governance Manager and Program Manager to ensure documented processes, data stewardship resources, and operational updates are accurate and current.
Enablement:
Ensure the portal empowers users to easily discover governance resources, understand data status/quality, and connect with relevant team members for issue resolution.
Continuous Improvement:
Solicit feedback, monitor usage analytics, and recommend enhancements to improve portal adoption, clarity, and enterprise impact.
Basic Qualifications:
2+ years of experience in data governance, data operations, analytics, or related field, including auditing logs and activity data (e.g., access, change management, use case/data tagging activity) to produce recurring reporting and insight.
Experience creating, publishing, and organizing dashboards, resources, and documentation for broad business audiences, including demonstrated responsibility for building or owning knowledge management or intranet/portal spaces.
Hands-on experience with Alation or similar data cataloging tools, and comfort querying or reviewing Snowflake logs/usage data to derive insight. Familiarity with spreadsheets and project management or documentation platforms (e.g., Confluence, SharePoint, or similar).
Excellent communication, training, and stakeholder engagement skills.
Strong organizational and project management capabilities.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience launching or managing digital portals, internal communication hubs, or large-scale documentation spaces.
Background supporting enterprise data governance or transparency initiatives in media, entertainment, or similarly complex organizations.
Familiarity with privacy and compliance standards (e.g., CCPA, GDPR), and experience supporting retention/deletion audits or data governance council reporting.
Experience in training, enablement, or user adoption roles.
