Walt’s passion was to continuously envision new ways to move audiences around the world—a passion that remains our touchstone in an enterprise that stretches from theme parks, resorts and a cruise line to sports, news, movies and a variety of other businesses. Uniting each endeavor is a commitment to creating and delivering unforgettable experiences — and we’re constantly looking for new ways to enhance these exciting experiences.

The Corporate Technology mission is to deliver technology solutions that align to business strategies while enabling enterprise efficiency and promoting cross-company collaborative innovation. Our group drives competitive advantage by enhancing our consumer experiences, enabling business growth, and advancing operational excellence.

Role Overview

  • We are seeking a Product Owner to join our Custom Products development team. In this role, you will support the delivery of high-quality digital products by working closely with Product Managers, Software Engineers, Designers, and other cross-functional partners. You will help translate business and user needs into clear, actionable work for the development team while learning modern product discovery and delivery practices.

Product Discovery & Strategy

  • Partner with Product Managers to understand product vision, goals, and success metrics, and help translate them into executable work items for the team.

  • Contribute to problem framing: synthesize user research, stakeholder input, and data to define clear problem statements and hypotheses.

Backlog Management & Prioritization

  • Help maintain a well-groomed backlog: write concise user stories with acceptance criteria; group work into epics/features.

  • Facilitate prioritization using customer value, feasibility, and alignment to company goals. Prioritization factors commonly include customer needs and company objectives.

Delivery & Execution

  • Partner with engineering, design, and QA to clarify scope, and iterate toward outcomes.

  • Participate in Agile ceremonies (backlog refinement, sprint planning, daily standups, reviews, retrospectives) and keep work items updated in Jira/Confluence.

 Stakeholder Communication

  • Prepare updates that clearly articulate the “why,” the plan, and progress; capture decisions, risks, and dependencies.

  • Collaborate with partner teams to ensure readiness for launch and adoption.

Measurement & Continuous Improvement

  • Define success metrics for features; monitor usage and performance; propose follow-ons based on evidence.

  • Contribute to post-launch retrospectives and incorporate learnings into roadmap and practices.

What Success Looks Like (6–12 months)

  • Delivery of incremental product improvements that reduce operational friction and improve user satisfaction.

  • Reliable and timely communications that increase stakeholder trust and cross-team alignment.

  • Demonstrated growth in core skills across discovery, prioritization, and delivery (consistent with internal career ladder expectations for early-career PMs).

Qualifications

Basic

  • Understanding of Agile software delivery and common ceremonies.

  • Ability to translate customer needs into clear requirements and collaborate across functions.

  • Collaborative mindset with a willingness to learn and accept feedback

  • Strong written/verbal communication and organization skills; comfort presenting to mixed technical/non-technical audiences.

Preferred

  • Internship, coursework, or project experience in product management, business analysis, engineering, or design.

  • Familiarity with tools such as Jira/Confluence, Smartsheet or similar project management and product analytics tools.

  • Curiosity about user needs and data-driven decision making.

  • Exposure to basic data practices (event instrumentation, dashboards, experimentation).

Core Competencies

  • Customer focus: centers decisions on user outcomes and evidence.

  • Structured thinking: breaks problems into hypotheses and testable slices; writes crisp stories/acceptance criteria.

  • Collaboration: builds strong partnerships with engineering, design, operations, and stakeholders.

  • Ownership & drive: follows through, anticipates risks, and pushes for clarity and momentum.

  • Communication: simplifies complex topics and maintains clear, timely updates.

Education

  • BA/BS in a relevant field (e.g., computer science, information systems, business) or equivalent experience.
