Team Description
As part of the Shared Technology Services organization, you’ll join a passionate group of technologists addressing complex challenges in dynamic, production-centric, and data-driven environments. Whether we’re supporting productions, managing data centers, or ensuring system reliability, our teams provide world-class foundational services to a diverse set of technology stakeholders across the company’s businesses.
We are seeking a Project Manager to support our Production Technology Operations team. This role combines project management, agile methodology, and technical expertise to drive impactful solutions for users in Studio Production.
Responsibilities of Role
Lead multiple concurrent technology initiatives with moderate complexity throughout their lifecycle
Conduct project intake, use case definition, charter and scope definition, project plan development, capacity allocations, resource assignment, project execution, and post-mortems
Prioritize and escalate critical operational tasks, execute project work plans, and revise as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements
Manage day-to-day activities for team members, ensuring blockers are removed, and team throughput is maximized
Lead sprint ceremonies, including planning, daily standups, reviews, retrospectives, and reporting
Develop, organize, and maintain project documentation and artifacts in a clear and accessible manner
Track and report on project progress (key tasks and milestones) and issues to engineering and program management
Monitor resource time tracking and identify staffing needs to optimize project delivery
Lead quarterly planning exercises to establish priorities, objectives and key results (OKRs), roadmaps, and capacity plans that align project outcomes with organizational goals
Leverage business intelligence applications (e.g., PowerBI) to measure project velocity and resource utilization throughout the quarter and drive corrective actions as required
Identify, assess, communicate, and mitigate project risks
Run Portfolio Reviews that provide executive leadership with updates on portfolio and project health
Manage stakeholder expectations and provide them with updates as requested
Apply analytics and critical thinking to identify opportunities for streamlining processes and improving the operational efficiency of the team
Understand the needs and intricacies of the team, from both an engineering and a business perspective, to knowledgeably provide recommendations and next steps
Deliver clear, engaging presentations and business cases to drive decision-making
Must Haves
3+ years of experience in technical project management, utilizing waterfall and agile methodology
Experience collaborating with cross-functional technical teams, including architects, infrastructure and data center engineers, software developers, system reliability engineers, and/or storage engineers
Proven proficiency with Jira and other project management tools
Experience with process mapping tools (e.g., Miro, Lucid)
Direct experience collaborating with colleagues in Microsoft Teams
Demonstrated ability presenting to business executives
Ability to work under pressure while managing multiple tasks, organizing and prioritizing work effectively, in a constantly evolving and rapidly changing environment
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Highly effective communication (oral, written, and visual) skills, with the ability to communicate at all levels of an organization, including tech leads, executives, and vendors
Meeting facilitation skills and an effective team player
Nice to Haves
Experience working in media, entertainment, or production environments
Certifications such as PMP or Scrum Master (CSM)
Formal education in a technical discipline
Proficiency with Atlassian Suites, Airtable, and PowerPoint
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software, Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or comparable field of study, and/or equivalent work experience
The hiring range for this position in Burbank, CA is $106,900 to $143,300 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
