The Disney Entertainment Research, Insights, and Analytics team sits within Disney Entertainment and partners closely with senior leaders across Content, Strategy, and Marketing to deliver audience and content performance insights that inspire creative development and inform content strategy.

We are seeking a Manager to join a dynamic team dedicated to delivering impactful data insights that influence a wide range of strategic decisions shaping the future of television at Disney Entertainment Television. This role will support research for content across ABC Entertainment and other brands on both linear and streaming platforms, contributing to a holistic understanding of audience behavior and content performance.
 

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and automate scalable reports and dashboards, ensuring data integrity and consistency across systems through quality control protocols and best practices for data hygiene; maintain and optimize data pipelines—including writing SQL queries that connect data feeds to regular reporting.

  • Identify and implement new tools, methodologies, and automation strategies to improve reporting efficiency and insight generation.

  • Contribute to the development of internal training materials and enablement resources for analytics tools like Tableau, Alteryx, and Snowflake/SQL.

  • Conduct exploratory analysis across data sets to uncover content viewing trends and craft compelling data-driven narratives and strategic recommendations that resonate with executive audiences and influence programming, scheduling, and marketing decisions across ABC Entertainment and Disney platforms.

  • Partner with internal stakeholders (e.g., Marketing, PR, Scheduling, Creative) and collaborate across Research, Insights, and Analytics (RIA) teams to ensure insights are actionable, aligned with business goals, and integrated across platforms and business units—fostering a culture of shared learning and innovation.

  • Provide a deep and ongoing understanding of content performance and audience preferences across linear and streaming.

  • Responsible for training and project management/daily tasks of analysts/contractors/interns as needed.

Basic Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience in media research, data & analytics, or related field.

  • Ability to capture and translate data and insights via visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Looker, Alteryx).

  • Experience working in “big data” environments (like Snowflake); Proficiency of SQL and an understanding of complex, large-scale relational databases, statistical programs and other tools (SAS, Python, R, etc.).

  • Strong interest in the content business; a consumer of shows across linear, streaming and social platforms. 

  • Advanced knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint.

  • Previous experience with Nielsen (NNTV and NPower) and other content and audience measurement services and tools (WRAP and Lake5).

  • Expertise in data exploration and data science.

  • The ideal candidate is a clear and confident communicator who thrives in a matrixed, cross-functional environment, working across business, insights, analytics, data, and technology teams.

  • Can self-start, work autonomously, and juggle multiple projects simultaneously, with the ability to prioritize competing tasks.

  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to understand data and trending.

Preferred Education

  • BA/BS Degree in Economics, Statistics, Econometrics, Mathematics, Data Science, Computer Science, or equivalent/related degree is preferred.


The hiring range for this position in Burbank, CA is $105,100 to $140,900 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
