This position currently reports to Principal Counsel, Legal Affairs, and will provide administrative support for three additional attorneys and a paralegal within the group.
This role will assist these attorneys in their day-to-day workings. The relationships you form with the attorneys that you support will be absolutely critical, because that’s what will enable you to become a true partner. As the “face” of your attorneys within The Walt Disney Company, your professionalism, loyalty and attitude will be a reflection of the office, and as such, will be a key component to its success.
What You Will Do
- Answer telephone calls in a professional and responsive manner and relay messages accurately and efficiently
- Schedule and coordinate calendars, conference calls and meetings involving individuals in multiple time zones
- Understand the day’s priorities so that you can be strategic about how you direct phone calls
- Interact with internal assistants, attorneys and other executives, as well as outside firms, vendors and other entities
- Prepare and process expense reports accurately and in a timely manner
- Draft letters and emails on behalf of your leaders
- Manage incoming and outgoing mail
- Draft, revise, redline/keep track of versions of, distribute and/or assist with the execution of, documents, including document templates, emails and presentations
- Manage documents within various online databases and systems, including systems for the execution of documents, filing of documents and the like
- Organize manually or in record system substantive materials accurately and efficiently
- Perform assorted administrative duties, including photocopying, faxing, scanning, ordering office supplies and ensuring IT needs are met/supported
- Schedule conference rooms, meetings and video chats
- Handle extremely confidential, sensitive information, remembering that Disney is a publicly traded company and your leaders handle very sensitive matters on a regular basis
- Assist with group administrative support responsibilities as needed
- Exemplify the professionalism and ethical judgment necessary to be a member of the Disney Legal Department
Required Qualifications & Skills
- At least 2 years of significant administrative support experience in a legal environment
- Experience supporting multiple attorneys at one time and appropriately balancing priorities, deadlines and deliverables
- Sharp written and verbal communication skills, including flawless grammar and a rich vocabulary
- Very strong organizational skills, attention to detail, strong proofreading skills and ability to multi task effectively
- Strong general computer and internet research skills
- Proven proficiency in Microsoft Office (including Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint), Workshare, and Adobe Acrobat
- Advanced word processing knowledge, including track changes, redlining and comparing documents
- Familiarity with SAP Workplace, Serengeti Tracker, Concur, NetDocuments, Legal Tracker and working in a Windows environment
- Proficiency redlining, drafting and revising legal documents and correspondence
- Complete reliability handling highly confidential and sensitive information
- A highly professional demeanor, positive outlook and can-do attitude
- Ability to quickly adapt to changing events while remaining calm
- Willingness to learn and a desire to truly be helpful to your leaders and co-workers
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience at The Walt Disney Company; and/or
- Experience working in a large law firm or large corporate legal department
Education
- Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent experience
The hiring range for this position in Burbank, CA is $53,300.00 to $71,300.00 per year based on a 40 hour work week. The amount of hours scheduled per week may vary based on business needs. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
