About the Role & Team

The Marvel Studios HR team is looking for a Sr Manager, HR Business Partner (HRBP) to support Live Action. In this role, you will be key in creating a positive employee experience and driving HR strategies that align with our company goals. You’ll work closely with leadership and employees to foster a supportive and inclusive work environment where everyone feels valued. Your expertise in talent management, organizational development, and culture-building will be critical in attracting, developing, and retaining our talent.

We are looking for a proactive, creative, and determined HR professional with a passion for talent development and a deep curiosity about the business. A passion for supporting production or creative teams is a plus!

What You Will Do

  • Dive into the business to understand its goals, team structures, and leadership needs, supporting leaders and their teams through change.

  • Build strong relationships to be an advisor to employees at all level and create opportunities for collaboration across all departments and levels within the studio.

  • Foster a sense of belonging, considering the impact decisions have on individuals and groups. Use DEI skills to create an inclusive environment for all employees.

  • Help leaders anticipate talent needs and develop effective succession plans, reinforcing career paths within the studio and company.

  • Use data and analytics to inform decisions and utilize that data and technology to propose creative solutions to complex HR and business challenges.

  • Ensure effective execution of people strategies across the full employee lifecycle, working closely with leadership.

  • Collaborate with HR partners to deliver tailored solutions and advocate for policy or practice changes when needed.

  • Lead, develop, and mentor HR Specialist and provide guidance to other team members as needed.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • 7+ years of experience in HR, organizational development, training, or talent management

  • Ability to navigate ambiguity and manage issues without a set process or system

  • Proven ability to establish credibility, act with integrity, and be a trusted thought partner who builds relationships and delivers results

  • Experience balancing business partnering with employee advocacy

  • Ability to manage complex situations with independence, while collaborating effectively

  • Experience leading and managing large-scale projects

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with matrixed teams, production environments, or creative groups

Education

  • BA/BS in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Business, or equivalent experience

  • MBA or MHR preferred


The hiring range for this position in Burbank, CA is $165,700 to $202,500 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
