About the Role & Program:
The Talent & Growth Center of Excellence (COE) is responsible for knowing and growing talent at The Walt Disney Company. We are a business-driven, employee-centric team that uses data and storytelling to shape learning and talent strategies. The Skills Management team partners with teams across People & Culture (e.g., Talent Connections, People Insights, Workforce Technology, etc.), business leaders, and subject matter experts to build a future ready talent framework.
We are seeking a collaborative and adaptable Skills Management Intern to join the Skills Management team. We're on a journey to become a skills focused company to enhance our talent practices. By knowing the skills of our talent and our roles, we can better match talent to opportunities and make more strategic talent decisions. This opportunity is a full-time (40 hours per week), six-month commitment from January - June 2026.
What You Will Do:
Skills Taxonomy Development & Maintenance
· Partner with the Skills Management team and partners to build and refine a skills taxonomy
· Review skill profiles and manage the review process
Data Analysis & Reporting
· Use HR Information Systems (HRIS), such as Workday, SAP SuccessFactors, and other systems to extract, analyze, and visualize skills data
· Create clear presentations that communicate skills trends and insights to inform decision-making
Content Development & Curation
· Support the design and curation of learning content and resources to support socialization and buy-in
· Help develop training and communication materials and resources to support skills-based talent initiatives and stakeholder engagement
Research & Innovation
· Stay current with industry learning trends, technologies, and best practices in skills management
· Research emerging skills taxonomies and benchmarking data to inform organizational strategy
· Support the exploration of AI-powered skill inference tools and skills assessment solutions
Required Skills & Qualifications:
· Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication to engage stakeholders and present findings clearly
· Critical Thinking: Ability to evaluate complex information and make data-driven recommendations
· Project Management: Organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and deliverables effectively
· Attention to Detail: Critical for ensuring accuracy in skills taxonomy development and data reporting
· Collaboration: Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders
· Adaptability: Flexibility to adjust approaches based on feedback and changing organizational needs
· Curiosity & Initiative: Eagerness to learn about skills-based talent management and propose innovative solutions
· Stakeholder Engagement: Comfort interacting with People & Culture professionals, business leaders, and subject matter experts
· Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite, especially PowerPoint and Excel
· Basic understanding of survey and assessment tools for collecting feedback
Preferred Skills & Qualifications:
· Experience with HRIS platforms
Education:
- Junior or Senior year preferred
- Major or previous coursework in Human Resources, Organizational Psychology, Industrial-Organizational Psychology, Business Administration, Learning & Development, Data Analytics, or a related field
Eligibility Requirements & Program Information:
- Be enrolled in an accredited college/university pursuing a degree taking at least one class at time of application OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship.
- Current Disney Interns, College, International, or Culinary Program Participants: You may only work for ONE consecutive year (12 months) in any combination of an internship and/or program.
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Possess unrestricted work authorization
Additional Information:
- Fully available from Monday - Friday, during traditional business hours for the duration of the internship, 40hours each week
- Able to provide own housing and transportation in the Burbank, CA area
The pay rate for this role in Burbank, CA is $22.50 per hour.
