The Walt Disney Archives was established in 1970 to collect, preserve, and make available for research the historical materials relating to Walt Disney and the company he founded. As the Archives (a part of the Disney Corporate Communications team) grows and expands its services, collections, programs, and outreach, to both internal and external clients and employees companywide, the department is seeking an enthusiastic, forward-thinking, motivated professional eager to join their team.
Responsibilities:
Be subject matter experts on the history of The Walt Disney Company, specifically with the historical significance and evolution of the Walt Disney Studios lot
Stay current with and have a thorough understanding of the Disney portfolio of brands and announced projects (i.e. – upcoming movie releases, company news, etc.).
Thoroughly study and know all tour guidelines, scripts, collateral and content. Stay current with any changes to operations or content
Communicate in advance with tour guests to confirm tour logistics, schedules and other important information
Communication with business partners and guests to schedule tour requests, including partnering to fulfill special tour requests that are not normally included in tours.
Provides tours from 1-3 hours. Length varies depending on tour request.
Handle all security clearances, safety and parking instructions for tour guests
Be able to troubleshoot and be flexible with unexpected changes
Ensure all tour collateral is distributed to guests accordingly
Partner with DCCR leads on any changes to assigned tour based on timing constraints of guests, available locations, and weather-related limitations
Be a positive spokesperson for Disney with an upbeat spirit and engaging guest-facing interactions
Professional demeaner with strong guest-facing skills. Be able to positively articulate and interact with all Disney stakeholders, operating partners, tour guests and VIPs
Support special event projects as requested/needed when there is downtime with tours
Communication with manager and/or Sr Hosts to stay current on tour locations and continued study of company history for accuracy in tour content.
Qualifications:
1+ years' experience in presenting/performing to a variety of guest types.
Must have the ability to present engaging and accurate information to guests.
Professional/business-casual guest-facing experience in the customer service and entertainment industry.
Strong knowledge and passion for Disney history.
The hiring range for this position in California is $44,700.00-$59,800.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
