Job Summary:

This newly created role of Vice President International Television Strategy & Operations reports to the Executive Vice President, International Television Strategy & Operations. This role will partner with the international regional teams, finance, content planning and analysis, direct-to-consumer and other TWDC stakeholders on optimizing the strategy and operations related to non-US content for TWDC’s digital streaming services throughout LatAm, EMEA, APAC, and India. The individual must be both strategic and operationally minded, an excellent communicator and relationship-builder, with expertise presenting to senior executives and stakeholders across business and creative functions. 

What You Will Do

Strategy

  • Work directly with the international regional teams and US leadership in setting and evolving the regional and per country strategy with respect to our international original and licensed content.
  • Provide updates, overviews and strategy recommendations for senior management on ad hoc projects related to our international content and strategy.
  • Provide input for annual and long-range plans on TWDC’s international slate and non-US licensed content and provide recommendations to the regional partners and leadership on investment levels, key markets, target genres, etc.
  • Analyze and understand critical content, entertainment and viewership trends as well as competitor strategies across the international markets. 
  • Create compelling executive presentations and other documents supported by strong qualitative and quantitative narratives. 
  • Partner with content planning and analysis, data analytics and other stakeholders to draw and share insights on our international slate and strategies.
  • Perform various analyses by leveraging resources and insights gathered from a broad range of functional experts and data sources, including content analytics, marketing, research, third party data, etc. 

Operations

  • Lead team overseeing all tracking of our non-US licensed content; ensure tracking is accurate and provide regular visibility to relevant internal stakeholders.
  • Identify opportunities to bring more efficiency to our internal processes and drive implementation of those processes
  • Establish regular communication and visibility between the regions and TWDC’s US content hubs to share updates on each group’s development and release slates and other key information  
  • Work with our regional partners, marketing teams and other stakeholders to determine appropriate prioritization processes for our slate of content.
  • Vet and elevate to the regions non-US content opportunities
  • Work with the regions and our operations/finance teams on the appropriate localization and release strategy for our international content.

  • Lead the team in prioritizing and executing on key strategic and operational initiatives.
  • Champion an innovative and highly collaborative diverse culture that promotes idea generation, open communication, respect for others, and excellence.
  • Mentor and support junior members of the team in reaching their potential.

Required Qualifications & Skills  

  • Ten years+ of prior in-depth experience in management consulting, investment banking, and/or strategic planning. 
  • Superior analytical, financial modeling, and research skills. 
  • Proficient in communicating complex ideas and data sets graphically in an effective way for presentation to senior-level executives. 
  • Exceptional cross-cultural awareness with passion for the international marketplace.
  • Deep strategic knowledge of the video streaming business and international media ecosystem. 
  • Strategic expertise of the global content market, ideally with an expertise in international content.
  • Passionate about and an avid consumer of content.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; highly effective at working with a variety of business partners and diverse stakeholders. 
  • Superior attention to detail. 
  • Excellent project management skills. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong leadership and management skills.
  • Takes initiative and is a self-starter, with the ability to lead projects from inception. 
  • Demonstrated record of building strong relationships with colleagues, with the ability to work both independently and as a member of a collaborative team. 
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel & Word; other presentation software and/or Airtable proficiency is a plus.
  • Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally.
  • Familiarity with the brands and franchises of The Walt Disney Company.
  • Foreign-language skills and/or international experience are a plus.

Education 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, or related fields. 
  • MBA preferred. 


The hiring range for this position in California is $229,000 to $307,000 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
