Job Summary:

Supporting the Disney Advertising Sales organization within Entertainment and Sports, the Data Science & Analytics team are subject matter experts in each of the following areas:

  • Creating and optimizing audience segmentation models that enable us to target specific audiences based on brand affinities, app behavior, and video viewership among other things
  • Examining other ways to expand audience sizes and depth through look-alike modeling of behaviors within our own network of digital properties

Analyzing the performance of models in real-world campaigns and collaborating with the audience modeling team to optimize and refine the models.

Job Summary:

Supporting Disney Advertising Sales, the Data Science Engineering team are subject matter experts in each of the following areas:

•          Integrating a broad suite of complex datasets, from digital event logs to sporting event metadata, into carefully curated and reusable data models

•          Creating and optimizing audience classification models that enable us to predict and target strategic audience attributes, including brand affinity, purchase behavior, and psychographics

•          Publishing audience attributes across an array of ad-serving endpoints

•          Working cross-functionally to ensure our data product is aligned with the goals of each strategic sales vertical and the business as a whole

We’re looking for an intellectually curious, business-savvy, analytical powerhouse to join Disney Ad Sales as a data science engineer on the Data Measurement Science team. In this role, you will be responsible for driving improvements across DET’s portfolio of offerings by using data. Working collaboratively with cross-functional teams, you will develop, drive, and oversee new strategies to ensure the growth of the business and the overall bottom line.

Responsibilities and Duties of the Role:

  • Develop data processing pipelines, stitching together streaming, advertising, and other feeds at the terabyte scale
  • Collaborate on the transformation of existing ML code into portable and automated services
  • Expand your skills in data governance and DevOps best practices by supporting ongoing team efforts to integrate data catalogues, data lineage, and CI/CD solutions into day-to-day operations.

Required Education, Experience/Skills/Training:

Minimum

  • Minimum of 3 years of related work experience. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software, Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or comparable field of study, and/or equivalent work experience​
  • Strong SQL skills, preference to processing large datasets in BigQuery and Snowflake .
  • Good Python skills, including a demonstrated ability to read and understand code.
  • Experience collaborating to team projects in Git and GitHub.
  • Detail-oriented with a passion for organization and elegance.

Preferred:

  • Experience in data process orchestration tools (e.g. Airflow).
  • Experience in infrastructure-as-code (e.g. Terraform).
  • Containerized development patterns (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Other cloud computing experience (e.g. GCP, AWS).

The hiring range for this remote position is $99,600 to $153,500 per year, which factors in various geographic regions. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
