    We’re looking for an individual to join the Data Science, Strategy, and Instrumentation Organization as a Lead of Data Strategy. This role reports into the Sr. Manager of Data Strategy and will be focused on leading all data-driven initiatives related to Disney Advertising’s international expansion. The individual that fills this role will be responsible for creating parity internationally for Disney Advertising’s advanced addressable capabilities. This is a highly collaborative and cross-functional role that will develop, drive, and oversee new strategies/partnerships/technical capabilities to ensure the growth of the business and the overall bottom line. The ideal candidate has spent time as an active developer (Data Science, Data Engineering or Software Engineering), has product/program/project management experience and exceptional communication skills.

    Supporting the Disney Advertising organization, the Audience Modeling and Data Science team are subject matter experts in each of the following areas:

    • Identity
    • Measurement
    • Addressability
    • Programmatic
    • Data-forward business development

    Responsibilities and Duties of the Role:

    Develop technical solutions to meet business requirements:

    • Participate and engage in product-development meetings and translate business requirements to technical action items for data feeds, reporting and product development.
    • Wireframe and develop code to prototype in-depth technical solutions for net-new business initiatives and translate them to scalable, production solutions.
    • Architect optimal database/code infrastructure to align with organization standards and ensure management of technical and business dependencies.

    Lead prioritization and roadmap for International Data Strategy:

    • Execute the Data Strategy Roadmap for applicable business units, and work in close collaboration with leadership to develop future initiatives.
    • Interact with business stakeholders (both internal and external) to understand macro-level organization strategy and priorities and help drive forward technical initiatives according to business needs.

    Develop ad-hoc code for QA, pipelining and proof-of-concept work:

    • Serve as an additional technical resource when necessary, stepping in to perform task-oriented work in SQL or other applicable languages for testing/requirements development.
    • Assist in the orchestration of processes that egress data to storage repositories and API endpoints.
    • Build and maintain ad-hoc technical documentation and external materials to support defined business initiatives.
    • Collaborate with other developers on on rapid prototype MVP (minimum-viable product) solutions for emerging opportunities.

    Required Education, Experience/Skills/Training:

    • Bachelors+5 years OR Master’s+3 years. Degree should be in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software, Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or comparable field of study, and/or equivalent work experience.
    • Experience working in an agile environment helping lead development of requirements, management of workflows and priorities, and generation of feedback to a data team.
    • Strong experience using SQL to transform and summarize data
    • Exceptional communication, storytelling and visualization skills
    • Strong experience in Google Cloud, AWS, or other cloud platforms a must.
    • A desire to work directly with business stakeholders and understand strategic decision making in a communication-heavy role
    • Innovative thinker capable of operating both in a strategic capacity (big-picture perspective, asks "why") and a hands-on/execution capacity (detail-oriented, conscientious).
    • Great organization, communication, and teamwork skills.

    The hiring range for this remote position is $132,200 - $203,800 per year , which factors in various geographic regions. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
