As an Associate Art Director, you will have other responsibilities too. Like crafting innovative and conceptual ideas for Disney Parks and Resorts alongside talented team of senior team members. You will have the opportunity to show your problem-solving skills and creative thinking for a range of advertising mediums. Social and digital by design, we expect EVERY YS creative team member to fully grasp the importance of thinking creatively in a tech-inspired world. Proven, imaginative design ability, expert understanding of the production process and engaging presentation skills are expected. To be successful as part of our team, an open mind and a passion to learn will take you very far.
Your day – to – day will include producing innovative conceptual ideas, supporting the businesses, your leads and successfully answering briefs that range from social, digital and traditional work. The role will ask you to learn the process here at Disney and honing your craft whether its type, design or art direction.

What You Will Do
- Work well with an Associate Copywriter partner to deliver compelling ideas.
- Craft innovative conceptual ideas that successfully answer briefs that range from social, digital, and traditional work.
- Have a strong focus on the Disney Springs line of business – with an ability to create strong retail creative that is on trend and fashion forward.
- Participate in creative briefings and decipher the needs of assignments.
- Be timely – delivering projects on schedule, meeting deadlines.
- Deliver polished and well-designed creative materials for internal and external presentations under the mentorship of a creative leader.
- Take direction from Sr. Creatives (Sr., ACD, CD) to deliver assignments at their level of expectation and with their direction.
- Have a comfort level with internal presentations to creative leaders.
- Contribute technical skill when crafting motion graphics, simple video edits and other needs of rapidly changing social platforms.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Minimum 2 years in an agency setting, or related experience.
- Confidence and enthusiasm when sharing ideas internally.
- Willingness to “raise your hand” and contribute proactively.
- Ability to take and synthesize feedback.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator). Knowledge of After Effects, 3D and other editing software is a plus.
- Experience in ideating in the digital and social space.
- Time management skills A MUST. Ability to manage multiple assignments, self-manage and meet deadlines.
- Be able to work under pressure and within quick timelines.
- Possess outstanding design and comping skills.
- Be proficient in presentation software and have working knowledge of PowerPoint, Keynote and Google Slides.
- Ability to learn Live Canvas and stay proficient on the changing functionality offered on social platforms.
- Strong eye for design, typography and photography with a type A-level attention to detail.
- Knowledge and genuine curiosity about the Walt Disney Company history–including films, animation, television and theme parks.
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Ad School or Liberal Arts preferred.
- Minimum of associate’s degree in advertising, Art, Graphic Art or Design.
