About the Role & Program:

The Corporate Real Estate (CRE) Controls group is part of the Acquire-to-Retire (ATR) tower and works closely with CRE Design & Delivery teams in the financial management and construction accounting of all real estate-related capital projects. The CRE Controls group is responsible for financial accounting functions as they relate to domestic and international real estate.

CRE Controls is also responsible for forecasting, analyzing, and solving self‐identified issues on capital and recurring capital projects managed by our CRE partners. CRE Controls ensures that all financial processes and policies are in alignment with corporate guidelines.

This internship is a full-time, six-month commitment in the Orlando, FL area from January 2025-June 2025.

What You Will Do:

CRE Controls is the link between the Corporate Real Estate Design & Delivery Teams and DWSS (Disney Worldwide Shared Services) which allows interns to learn about several disciplines. As a Corporate Real Estate Controls Intern, you’ll have the opportunity to:

  • Set up and maintain project cost reports

  • Communicate with project management and assist with monitoring of financial projects

  • Process and record vendor contracts and change order requests for project management approval

  • Receive, review and record invoices, waivers and related back-up

  • Collect and organize required close-out documentation

  • Collaborate with other members on the Controls team and within the ATR tower on process improvement projects

Required Qualifications & Skills:

  • Highly organized and detail-oriented 

  • Possess strong analytical and research skills

  • Self-motivated, with the ability to work without close supervision  

  • Excel experience (intermediate to advanced: v-lookups, pivot tables, sum-ifs) 

  • An interest in learning about the financial management of real estate-related projects 

  • Effective communicator

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong computer and technical skills 

  • SAP knowledge 

  • Experience or academic coursework in Real Estate Finance, Construction Accounting and/or Real Estate Development  

Education: 

  • Be enrolled in an accredited college/university taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) prior to participation in the internship program OR must have graduated from a college/university within 6 months at time of application posting OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship

  • Undergraduate students in their Junior or Senior year preferred, or a recent graduate within 6 months of graduation date

  • Major or previous coursework in Economics, Business, Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field 

Eligibility Requirements & Program Information:

Candidates for this opportunity MUST meet all of the below requirements:

  • Be at least 18 years of age

  • Possess unrestricted work authorization 

  • Have not completed one year of continual employment on a Disney Internship or Disney College Program 

Additional Information:

  • The approximate dates of this internship are January 2025-June 2025.

  • This internship is located in the Orlando, FL area.

  • Candidate must be fully available to work full time hours (approximately 40 hours per week) for the duration of the internship.

  • This internship is a primarily on-site position which will require a working, reliable internet connection as well as a quiet, dedicated workspace.

  • Able to provide your own housing and reliable transportation for the duration of the internship program in the Orlando, FL area
