We are responsible for the end-to-end digital and physical Guest experience for all technology & digital-led initiatives across the Attractions & Entertainment, Food & Beverage, Resorts & Transportation and Merchandise lines of business as well as other initiatives including MyDisneyExperience and Hey, Disney!

The Senior Business Analyst is responsible for engaging with Disney Signature Experience (DSE) on behalf of the Technology & Digital project team. This role works to understand business needs, research industry technology trends, and gather service requirements to maximize delivery of business value all whole translating into requirements that the Technology & Digital team can use to design and develop solutions and estimates. The Senior Business Analyst develops business case documentation to ensure benefits align to objectives.  The Senior BA also aids in the refinement the project portfolio plan through major financial milestones such as Annual Capital Planning, Annual Operating Planning, the Long-Range Plan and other ad-hoc requests.

What You’ll Do

  • Support pre-project business problem elicitation, feasibility and business case definition.
  • Works with the business to determine the issue(s) that need to be solved, or the opportunity to do things differently.
  • Develops the business case, in particular ensuring benefits align to strategic and tactical business objectives. 
  • Supports business, technical, and financial feasibility assessments.
  • Gathers business requirements.
  • Works with the business to capture and document requirements (functional and non-functional), using techniques such as workshop facilitation, document analysis, sites visits, use cases, scenario modeling, and task/workflow analysis.
  • Ensures business requirements are concise, complete, specific, and unambiguous, and that they are aligned to the strategic and tactical goals of the project and the business.
  • Combines all business requirements into a clear, managed, prioritized backlog (agile) or business requirements document (waterfall).
  • Refines business requirements to a sufficient level of detail to allow Architects and Software Engineers to design and implement appropriate solutions.
  • Provides refined requirements into project iterations in time to allow design/delivery to commence.
  • Manages the scope and traceability of requirements throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring that they are understood by the project team and met by the delivered solution.
  • Performs process modeling.
  • Discovers and documents the as-is process by applying various process modeling techniques.
  • Identifies and presents high level solution options for the business.
  • Designs and models the to-be process, performing gap analysis and identifying areas for improvement.
  • Works with the Business Architect, ensuring business processes are aligned with the business and technology architecture.
  • Reviews and signs off on solution designs, ensuring business requirements are verified, validated and delivered.
  • Provides business change management support.
  • Ensures the benefits, impact and release of all changes are tracked and managed and communicated to relevant stakeholders.
  • Provides project management support.
  • Provides subject matter expertise on the business unit and associated processes and systems to all relevant team members.
  • Assists the Project Manager in identifying and managing risks, issues and dependencies.
  • Assists the team in resolving questions related to requirements or process.
  • Supports the business and technical teams with reporting and planning of budgets and analysis.
  • Supports the review of contracts drawn up with any third-party suppliers to ensure that they accurately reflect the needs of the business.
  • Technology portfolio management support.
  • Assists the team with the collection of ideas, entering them into the system of record.
  • Responsible for the planning and strategy of funding new projects within the DSE space.
  • Collaborates with portfolio controllers to understand financials for an effort(s).
  • Reporting and metric disbursement for documents sent to internal and external partners.
  • Aligns with technology management to have a consistent view into the projects and projects being funded for executive leader report outs.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • 5+ years of experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in the field of Information Technology, Business, or similar field
  • Master’s degree in the field of Information Technology, Business, or similar field preferred
  • Experience in applying business analysis techniques, such as information gathering methods, requirements documentation, process modeling and process mapping.
  • Understanding of all stages in a project lifecycle and delivery approaches.
  • Experienced with capital project funding and approval requests.

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in the field of Information Technology, Business, or similar field; plus 5 years of experience
  • Or Master’s degree in the field of Information Technology, Business, or similar field; plus 3 years of experience
