The Disney Vacation Club (DVC) Member Accounting team is responsible for leading Disney Vacation Club’s loan portfolio; as well as billing and collecting annual dues on behalf of the condo associations that it supports. This Senior Financial Analyst position will perform daily Financial Management processes, act as point of contact for system improvements and updates, plus other tasks as needed to support the operation
What You Will Do
- Partner as a key contributor in the Disney Vacation Club system projects to include defining system requirements and performing system testing including user acceptance, financial integration, data migration, and report testing. The testing will ensure accuracy of systems processes as well as ensuring accuracy of data calculations and accounting transactions from the system, through middleware (FIS and CAP), and into SAP.
- Partner to oversee and perform daily financial management responsibilities of the Loans and Dues portfolios to ensure accurate accounting, account reconciliations, monthly journal entries and daily wires
- Perform monthly and annual dues billing processes as assigned
- Perform weekly auto pay processes and audit functions to ensure all payments are accurately applied to Members accounts and release of file(s) sent to bank
- Responsible for completing Member tax documentation (1098 and 1099) and ensuring it is sent in a timely manner to meet federal regulations.
- Annual solicitation and re-solicitation of members (W-9 and W-8BEN)
- Process all Soldiers and Sailor Act requests punctually as well as any necessary mortgage modifications as they may arise.
- Serve as point of contact for team for day to day operations
- Recommend system and process improvements and design system testing as required
Required Qualifications & Skills
- At least 3 years of Finance or Accounting experience
- Ability to perform detailed account reconciliations using various tools including Excel
- Ability to document detailed system and reporting requirements
- Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written) with internal and external partners
- Ability to adapt quickly, work independently, take ownership, and work in a flexible team environment
- Experience with system testing
- Demonstrated skills in adhoc report development to provide significant business metrics and analytical tools
- Critical thinking to challenge status quo and bring forward operational improvements as part of the system replacement project
- Ability to prepare and present information to support decision making
- Ability to plan and prioritize work and balance multiple priorities in a fast paced work environment
- Strong Microsoft Office skills
Preferred Qualifications
- 3 years of Timeshare industry knowledge
- Experience working on system replacements projects from an Accounting perspective
- Detailed understanding of existing Dues systems and Member Accounting current state processes
Education
- Bachelors’ Degree in Accounting, Finance, or similar business degree or equivalent experience
