Job Summary:

This is an exciting opportunity for a top finance/accounting professional to utilize their expertise in a challenging, rewarding, and creative environment in a unique and highly visible role. The financial instruments team has the primary responsibility to account for and report on the company’s derivatives, debt, and other corporate activities. The team is responsible for accounting, reconciliations, management reporting, SEC reporting and SOX. This is a high-profile team that works closely with executives within The Walt Disney Company (TWDC). This position requires a professional that is highly motivated and a self-starter.

This individual must be able to develop professional relationships with various business partners, analyze and decipher finance/accounting data to accurately review the Company’s reporting obligations. He/she must be able to identify problems and develop innovative solutions to further efforts toward continuous process improvements. He/she must be capable of researching complex accounting topics and presenting succinct results. In addition, he/she must be well-organized, detail-oriented, and be able to perform a variety of tasks under time pressure and strict deadlines.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform accounting and close activities associated with Corporate Financial Instruments, including but not limited to Foreign Exchange hedges, Commodity hedges, and Intercompany Loans

  • Perform analysis and other reporting related to Accumulated Other Comprehensive Income, Fair Value Measurements, and Derivative Instruments

  • Assist the Foreign Exchange team with journal entries during close and forecasting balance sheet exposures

  • Perform testing of SOX and other key controls for the Corporate segment

  • Reconcile financial instrument system interfaces with SAP

  • Support and assist internal customers with inquiries relating to the Corporate Financial Instruments (Cash Flow and Fair Value Hedging)

  • Perform global support of various International and Domestic treasury operations

  • Prepare disclosures for quarterly reports including footnote preparation for 10K, 10Q, etc.

  • Perform ad hoc projects and routine financial reporting (tax, foreign exchange, capital contributions, etc.

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Audited publicly traded companies and/or worked in a complex Corporate Accounting or Consolidation capacity

  • Demonstrated computer proficiency with Excel and a large ERP systems (ie. SAP Oracle, JD Edwards, ect)

  • Demonstrated problem solving and continuous improvement skills

  • Detail oriented with strong organizational skills

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong partnering and customer service skills

  • Strong analytical skills

  • Ability to handle high volume work in a deadline driven environment

  • Demonstrated computer proficiency with SAP and Business Objects

  • Consolidation reporting experience Licenses / Training(e.g. professional certifications)CPA or equivalent
