About the Role & Team

As a Disney Cruise Line Talent Acquisition Specialist, you will be pivotal in shaping the recruitment experience for candidates on our ships and islands, handling daily recruitment tasks to support Disney Cruise Line. Your role will help support the strategic growth of our dynamic business, while building long term relationships with others to accomplish goals. Your technical understanding of HR systems, combined with proficiency in reporting and analytical tools such as Excel, Access, and SharePoint, will be essential. You will be part of a team who continually challenges themselves to undergo constant evolution within our day-to-day operational processes.

What You Will Do

  • Enhance the ship/island candidate experience and address recruitment process gaps to achieve operational excellence

  • Specialized Line of Business support to include resume review, offer support and interview support

  • Collaborate with multiple Recruiters to support the full life cycle professional recruitment process

  • Perform resume screening for a variety of operational ship/island roles from front-line shipboard Crew to Officer/Island Leader roles; assist with candidate pre-screening in the Applicant Tracking System

  • Monitor open requisitions using reporting systems and audits to promptly assign candidates  

  • Monitor and manage global candidate pools to ensure timely candidate progression

  • Ensure positions are assigned and hired within the agreed upon timeframe by targeting hiring deadlines

  • Proactively communicating with Recruiter and Labor Manager when embarks may be delayed

  • Develop relationships and collaborate with critical business partners to support the job offer process 

  • Handle the timely and accurate processing of complex hires and system transactions in the Applicant Tracking System, HR System of Record, Document Tracking System, and other Disney Cruise Line-specific systems as needed

  • Leverage various systems to proactively maintain data integrity

  • Complete technical actions in our applicant tracking system

  • Assist Recruiters with operational and recruitment projects

  • Support DCL professional recruitment if needed

  • Assist with special projects as needed

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in Human Resources/Talent Acquisition or related support team experience

  • Ability to think creatively and take initiative to resolve issues for quality candidate and hiring leader experiences

  • Technical understanding of HR systems

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential to ensure accuracy throughout the recruitment process

  • Diplomacy, strong business acumen, integrity and ability to handle confidential information

  • Proficiency with reporting and analytical tools like Excel, Access, SharePoint, etc.

  • Competency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint and SharePoint

  • Aptitude to quickly learn

  • Organized with strong attention to detail, accuracy, follow-through  

  • Ability to be flexible, proactive, highly organized, and able to easily shift priorities

  • Ability to take initiative; be resourceful in finding information and asking questions

  • Able to work independently, with limited or no supervision at times

  • Ability to build positive and productive relationships   

  • Ability to interact with multiple levels of leadership in a professional manner

  • Ability to multi-task effectively in a fast-changing environment 

  • Demonstrated problem solving and decision-making skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with ATS and HRIS

  • Proven experience working in and international environment with international partnerships


The hiring range for this position in Florida is $29.03 -$36.00 per hour. The hourly rate actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
