About the Role & Team

We are seeking a Seasonal Wedding Assistant for Disney’s Fairy Tale Wedding Team! In this role, you will support Event Services Managers by assisting in the coordination and execution of Magical and Once-in-a-Lifetime events. The wedding events include but are not limited to ceremonies, receptions, rehearsals, dessert parties, and engagements. The Wedding Assistant acts as the eyes and ears for Event Services Managers to ensure all the logistics are in place during the execution of the event such as photography coordination, food and beverage, deliveries, limo/transportation, etc.


You will report to the Senior Wedding Planner.


This is a Seasonal position that is located in Celebration, FL.


What You Will Do

  • Assist the Event Services Managers with the execution of wedding events, dessert parties, and engagements.
  • Handle occasional office duties.
  • Provide back-up support for the Franck’s Bridal Studio reception coverage on an as-needed basis.
  • Prioritize multiple tasks with competing deadlines, make decisions, and if needed, change the course of action quickly.


Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Knowledge of event execution logistics
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Problem-solving and continuous improvement process skills
  • Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills, as well as telephone etiquette skills
  • Proven knowledge and understanding of Walt Disney World policies and procedures
  • Availability to work any day of the week including overtime, weekends, nights, and holidays
  • Computer proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and smartphones
  • Outstanding Guest Service skills
  • Ability to work outdoors, walk long distances, stand for long periods
  • Must be able to push, pull, and lift 50lbs


Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Siebel, Outlook, Disney Sales and Catering System (DSCS) and the DREAMS reservation system
  • Knowledge of weddings, resorts, and/or the hospitality industry
  • Demonstrated strong partnering skills and teamwork initiative
  • Type 50 WPM and proven performance with grammar skills
  • Bachelor's Degree in Event Management or a related field or equivalent experience
  • Bilingual in Spanish


Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent
