Job Summary:

Operations Strategy & Development:

  • Serve as the primary project contact for Walt Disney Attractions Japan (WDAJ) in collaboration with Walt Disney Imagineering (WDI) and Oriental Land Company (OLC).
  • Provide critical input in development of the Theory and/or Concept of Operations documents with Walt Disney Imagineering teams.
  • Participate in BlueSky pre-development work for Park Operations, including the development of Back Of House Program as well as Operational Design Criteria and Scope needs.
  • Identify and contribute superior Guest experiences to be incorporated in Parks design, successfully execute and sustain the strategic intent of project.
  • Recognize current local needs, and apply successful comparable learnings from the segment and industry.
  • Apply fully integrated business management experience, operational expertise as well as input from key partners to drive the creative development process.
  • Represent Operations and oversee all aspects of design contribution and manage project acceptance process. Track outstanding issues, field logistics, project delivery, and turnover to Operations
  • Participate in design reviews, provide active comment, and communicate design intent to Operations through drawing review and interpretation
  • Communicate regular project status updates to Parks leadership and related partners
  • Conduct after-action review to collect lessons learned for future projects and provide lessons learned from previous projects to WDI, Facilities Asset Management, and design teams

Park Operations:

  • Observe and share best practices across multiple locations and suggest operational improvements utilizing critical thinking and strategic decision-making skills.
  • Lead the operational rollout of key initiatives within the Tokyo Disney Resort, ensuring seamless integration and execution.
  • Provide safety and auditing inputs, acting as the direct liaison between Disney safety groups and Oriental Land Company.
  • Engage with the Disney community to contribute to standards development and ensure their effective execution and implementation with OLC.
  • Support new initiatives, including property openings and new operational process launch following renovations, serving as a liaison for Operations teams.
  • Ensure relevance of current operating strategies by maintaining effective communication with internal Disney sites and OLC.
  • Provide guidance and support to internal stakeholders on project development using Disney standards and best practices.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Hospitality Management, or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in operations management within the attractions or hospitality industry
  • Proven track record of project management and strategic development.
  • Strong strategic thinking, problem-solving, critical thinking, and strategy development skills
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Experience working in a global environment, preferably with exposure to Japanese business culture.
  • Knowledge of Disney standards and best practices is highly desirable.
  • Fluent in English and proficiency in Japanese is preferred.
  • Able to work and excel in a flexible work environment including working a variety of shifts, weekends and holidays.
